Russia: Eurocement has appointed Andrey Solovyov as the director general of its 2.6Mt/yr Peterburgtsement plant. Soloviev, a graduate of the Moscow Mining Institute, holds experience working for other cement companies. He previously ran Eurocement’s Sengileevskiy cement plant in Ulyanovsk. He has been suceeded at this site by Ildus Sagitov, a graduate of the Belgorod State Technological University.
Eurocement upgrading Katavsky and Kavkaztsement plants
28 March 2019Russia: Eurocement is close to completing a Euro2.5m upgrade to a cement grinding mill at its Katavsky cement plant. The project was intended to improve the quality of its cement products and to replace the mill’s filter sleeves. The unit uses which Christian Pfeiffer separators, Aumund elevators, Siemens automation systems and mill grinders and Vega grinding media. Pre-commissioning is currently being completed and cement from the mill is being tested at a laboratory.
The cement producer’s Kavkaztsement plant is building a captive power plant scheduled for commissioning in August 2019. It has completed the construction of the building that will house the gas piston power station as well as other connecting structures. Employees from the plant are being trained by Wärtsilä in preparation for the start up. The project has an investment of around Euro15m.
Eurocement orders three mills from Gebr. Pfeiffer
12 March 2019Uzbekistan: Russia’s Eurocement has ordered three mills from Germany’s Gebr. Pfeiffer for its Akhangarancement plant upgrade in Uzbekistan. The package includes an MVR 5000 R-4 for raw material grinding and two MVR 5000 C-4 for cement grinding. The MVR 5000 R-4, features a total drive power of 2500kW, will grind 500t/hr of cement raw material to a fineness of 12% R 90µm. The cement mills, each with an installed drive power of 4000kW, are designed to grind 200t/hr of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) at 3200 Blaine. No value for the order has been disclosed.
Eurocement spending Euro5m on upgrades to Maltsovsky plant
26 February 2019Russia: Eurocement is spending around Euro5m on upgrades to its Maltsovsky plant as part of its winter repair schedule. The unit is planning to increase its production output and modernise three of its four kilns. Work is also planned for raw and cement grinding mills. The plant has a cement production capacity of 4.7Mt/yr.
Eurocement signs deal to buy 1000 vehicles from Kamaz
15 February 2019Russia: Eurocement has signed a deal to buy 1000 gas-powered vehicles from Kamaz. The framework agreement will run until 2022. It was signed at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. No value for the deal has been disclosed.
The cement producer has also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Rosavtodor, the Federal Roads Agency, to increase the use of concrete in road construction. The organisations will hold a discussion on regulatory standards for the use of mineral binders in road construction and Rosavtodor will consider a pilot project.
Eurocement to commission new line at Akhangarancement by 2021
30 January 2019Uzbekistan: Russia’s Eurocement plans to commission a new 3Mt/yr production line at the Akhangarancement in Tashkent region by 2021. Company president Mikhail Skorokhod discussed the project with representatives of the Chamber of Accounts of Uzbekistan, according to Uzbekistan Daily. US$160m is being spent on the new line and US$40m will be invested towards other improvements at the site. Work on the upgrade stated in October 2018. China’s CNBM is the main contractor on the project.
Eurocement plans upgrades for Kavkazcement plant in 2019
25 January 2019Russia: Eurocement is planning a second phase of upgrades for its Kavkazcement plant in 2019. These include starting to generate its own electricity, modernising its cement grinding mills, completing a maintenance campaign and moving to solely operating rotary kilns. The first phase of the upgrade project saw the plant build a slurry pipeline, construct the building for a captive power plant and purchasing monitoring equipment.
Sibilia supplies vacuum units to Eurocement plants
11 January 2019Russia: Italy’s Sibilia has supplied vacuum units to Eurocement’s Voronezh and Peterburgcement plants. In connection to the order workers at the plants also underwent three days of associated training. The cement producer also plans to use equipment from Sibilia at different plants in the country.
Eurocement upgrading Kavkazcement plant
03 December 2018Russia: Eurocement is upgrading its Kavkazcement plant in a Euro13m project until May 2019. Production will continue throughout out the work. The plant is preparing to increase cement production in 2019 by refurbishing kilns that were not used in 2018. The clinker cooler and a static grid will be installed in January 2019. From February to May 2019 work on the plant’s raw material lines and cement mills will be conducted. In addition selected buildings at the site will be replaced.
Russia: Eurocement has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dry Building Mixes Manufacturers Union about using white cement. The deal was signed by Jaroslav Stoupa, the president of production and technical development at Eurocement, and Roman Borisov, the head of the Dry Building Mixes Manufacturers Union, at a trade conference in Moscow. The agreement connects the producers and users of white cement and it allows for the technical exchange of data about the product’s market requirements. It follows Eurocement’s plans to develop a white cement production line at its Zhigulovskiye Stroymaterialy plant in Samara in mid-2019.
