US: Plibrico Company has opened its new corporate headquarters and research and development laboratory in Northbrook, Illinois. Previously located in Chicago, Illinois, the new Northbrook location offers a larger, more user-friendly space for staff and visitors. The company is a manufacturer and installer of aluminosilicate and high alumina monolithic refractories that are used in a variety of industries including cement.

UK: Fuchs chairman and chief executive officer Stefan Fuchs has officially opened Fuchs Lubricants UK’s new office in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Ralph Rheinboldt and Dagmar Steinert of the Fuchs executive board were also in attendance with UK managing director Richard Halhead. Hanley is the site of the UK manufacturing plant for the Fuchs Group and the Fuchs Global Centre of Excellence for specialist sectors including machining, mining, glass and Silkolene motorcycle oils.

The new offices incorporate a number of energy-efficiency features such as LED lighting, climate control systems and insulation properties. Previous investment has seen solar panels installed within the manufacturing plant capable of 525kWp generating 14% of electricity demand. An open working environment also means that the chief executive officer’s office doubles as an additional meeting space.

Fuchs has also enhanced the Research and Development Technical Centre, which is attached to the new office block. This will create additional capacity for the analytical work carried out in the Service and Quality laboratories. The new test centre will see additional machine tools being installed to enhance the CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) capabilities already in place.

US: Cemex USA has officially opened its new headquarters in Houston, Texas. Division president Ignacio Madridejos marked the event by presiding over a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site at 10100 Katy Freeway in Memorial City in west Houston. More than 200 employees are now working at the new offices.

“These new offices show how Cemex USA stands strong,” said Madridejos. “This beautiful building will be part of the community for years and illustrates our commitment to being part of it.”

Jordan: The Arab Union for Cement and Building Materials (AUCBM) has opened a regional office in Amman. The office will be managed by Khaled Tarawneh, the General Manager of Arab Company for White Cement Industry and an AUCBM board member. The office is intended to support member companies of the AUCBM towards training workers at cement plants and supporting the AUCBM with its events.

Germany: Flexicon (Europe) has opened a new office to provide factory-direct engineering services and technical sales support to customers throughout Germany.

“The Aschaffenburg location will fuel Flexicon's rapid growth in the region by providing a dedicated German-language staff with full access to corporate resources," said Keith Bourton, Managing Director.

The Aschaffenburg office is headed by Christian Löchler, Regional Sales Manager. He holds an Engineering degree in Plastic Processing Technology from Fachhochschule Darmstadt (University of Applied Sciences), and possesses 20 years of experience in plastics processing, compounding and recycling, most recently as a Sales/Project Engineer for a consultancy specialising in gravimetric and volumetric dosing for granulates, powders and liquids. At Flexicon he will be responsible for building relationships with plant engineers, managers and other equipment specifiers in facilities that handle bulk solid materials across the mineral, food, pharmaceutical, plastics and general chemical industries.

Flexicon specialises in bulk handling equipment. Flexicon (Europe) is located in Whitstable, UK and is a fully owned subsidiary of Flexicon Corporation of Bethlehem, US. In addition to the Kent manufacturing location, Flexicon Corporation owns and operates manufacturing facilities in Brisbane, Australia and Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and maintains factory-direct sales offices in Barcelona in Spain, Santiago in Chile; and Singapore.

US: Pruftechnik has opened a new office in San Diego, California. The new location will support the company’s product sales, tech support, training, consultation and machinery services. The opening of the new office follows the commencement of the firm’s North American operations from Philadelphia in March 2016. Pruftechnik specialises in laser alignment systems and it is a provider for the maintenance of rotating equipment.

Turkey: FLSmidth Airtech - Air Pollution Control, opened its new office in Istanbul on 13 November 2015. Customers, partners and suppliers from the industry participated in the reception. The office is regional and will service the Turkish market and neighboring countries such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Middle East and North Africa. FLS Airtech has served the Turkish cement and steel industry with more than 200 reference state-of-the-art solutions in air pollution control.
