Aunde orders four mills from Loesche
21 August 2017Turkey: Germany’s Aunde has ordered four vertical roller mills from Loesche for a new cement plant being built in Soma. The order includes one 350t/hr raw material mill, one 30t/hr coal or 27t/hr petcoke mill and two 150t/hr clinker or granulated blast furnace slag mills. The scope of delivery also includes additional components such as water injection, cyclones, slide gates and rotary feeders as well as a spare parts package for the next two years.
Spain: Cementos Cosmos has stopped exports from its Niebla cement plant due to an increase in the price of petcoke. The subsidiary of Brazil’s Votorantim has also implemented a Temporary Regulation of Employment from June 2017 to May 2018 that will enable it to suspend workers or reduce working hours, according to the Huelva Información newspaper. The cement producer says it is waiting for planning permission to install a dosing system for waste fuels that will cut it fuel bill. However, the local community has opposed attempts to use alternative waste fuels previously.
Sumitomo Osaka Cement consumed 1.41Mt of coal in financial year 2015
02 September 2016Japan: Japan's Sumitomo Osaka Cement consumed 1.41Mt of coal in financial year 2015 to March 31, 2016, down 2.7% year on year. Petroleum coke consumption in FY2015 was 0.10Mt, up 19%.
Arabian Cement to build US$9m petcoke mill
16 August 2016Egypt: Arabian Cement plans to build a US$9m petcoke mill for its cement plant. It is preparing all the necessary legal and financial requirements for the project. The new mill will help the cement plant reduce its operating costs.
