Buzzi acquires full ownership of Companhia Nacional de Cimentos
07 October 2024Brazil: Buzzi has finalised the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in Companhia Nacional de Cimentos (CNC) from Brennand Cimentos, securing full control over the joint venture. The deal, valued at US$311m, was approved by Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), according to Movimento Econômico. CNC has been operational since 2018 and has five integrated cement plants and two grinding plants in Brazil, with a total production capacity of 7.2Mt/yr. This acquisition follows initial transactions that began in June 2024.
Brennand Group to build new cement plant at Ponta Grossa
15 January 2019Brazil: Brennand Group plans to invest around US$190m toward building a new cement plant at Ponta Grossa in Paraná state. A provisional building license has been awarded and the company is now waiting on further licenses before construction work can begin according to aRede. The new plant will be build by Brennand Group’s subsidiary Mineracao Delta do Paraná and the plant will operate under the Companhia de Cimento do Paraná (CPR) name.
Funding for plant will come from Brennand Group’s sale of a 50% stake in a subsidiary to Italy’s Buzzi Unicem in 2018.
Hazemag supplies two crushing plants to Brazil
26 September 2013Brazil: Germany's Hazemag & EPR GmbH has received an order from the Brennand Cimentos Group in Brazil for the delivery of two crushing plants for its new cement works in the federal state of Paraiba, Brazil. The order comprises one limestone crusher and one clay crusher.
The limestone crushing plant is designed for a throughput rate of 1500t/hr for the production of a final product of 95% <90mm. A second product of 95% <50mm may also be produced at a lower throughput rate. HAZtronic, a hydraulic input apron control, can switch between the two production modes. The clay crushing plant is designed for a throughput of 300t/hr for the production of a finished product of 0 - 90mm.
The plant consists of the following components: Hazemag apron feeder, Hazemag roller screen VARIOwobbler® with adjustable gaps, Hazemag primary impact crusher fitted with the hydraulic impact apron control, Haztronic discharge belt conveyor.
The commissioning of both plants is planned for spring 2014.
