China: Anhui Conch has issued a request for tenders for a gypsum supply contract. The contract will cover the supply of synthetic gypsum produced by flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) to Anhui Conch between 1 February 2020 and 31 July 2020.

India: GE Power India has been award a contract by Aravali Power worth US$107m for a flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) system. The contract is for design, engineering, civil work, supply, erection and commissioning of wet FGD systems along with auxiliaries like limestone and gypsum handling systems and wet stack on full turnkey basis.

Aravali Power is a joint venture company between NTPC, Haryana Power Generation Company and Indraprastha Power Generation Company. It operates a coal power station near Jharli, Jhajjar in Haryana with three 500MW units. An additional two 660MW units are planned for a future expansion project.

China: Anhui Conch has continued a cement sale and purchase agreement with Jiangsu Conch Building Materials by entering into a new contract worth US$364m. Subsidiaries of Anhui Conch based in east China will sell a total of 7.5Mt of cement products to Jiangsu Conch, a non-wholly owned subsidiary of Anhui Conch, in 2019. Additionally, three of Anhui Conch’s subsidiaries in Shanghai region will procure 0.13Mt of fly ash and 70,000t of flue gas desulphurisation gypsum from Jiangsu Conch Building Materials in 2019 for a value of around US$3m. The deals follow a similar arrangement for Anhui Conch to sell cement to Jiangsu Conch in 2018.
