Chui region drives 32% rise in Kyrgyz cement output
03 December 2025Kyrgyzstan: Cement production reached 3.6Mt between January and October 2025, up by 32% year-on-year or 0.89Mt, according to the National Statistical Committee. The entire increase was driven by higher output in the Chui region, which produced over half of the country’s total. Cement output in the Chui region doubled from 0.9Mt to 1.8Mt, accounting for all national growth over the period.
Uzbek production rises in first half of 2025
01 August 2025Uzbekistan: Cement plants in Uzbekistan produced 9.16Mt of Portland cement during the first half of 2025, according data from the National Statistics Committee (NSC). The NSC reported that this was 18.2% more than in the first half of 2024, when 7.74Mt was produced. First half production has now increased by nearly 60% in just two years, with just 5.73Mt produced in the first half of 2023.
Uzbekistan: Local cement companies produced 4.76Mt of cement between January and April 2025, up by 5.5% year-on-year from 4.51Mt in 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee. Output was from 3.27Mt in 2023.
Uzbekistan: Cement companies produced 3.65Mt of cement in January - March 2025, up by 62% year-on-year from 2.26Mt in 2024. According to data from the National Statistical Committee, output had previously risen by 31% from 2.03Mt in the first quarter of 2023 to 2.26Mt in 2024.
Kyrgyzstan: A total of 0.58Mt of cement was produced during the first quarter of 2025. This was a rise of 51.6% year-on-year compared to 0.38Mt in the first quarter of 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee. It was also higher than the first quarter of 2023, when 0.45Mt of cement was produced.
However, construction companies and buyers of construction materials have recently encountered cement shortages in the capital city Bishkek. Local finance media source Tazabek reported that it has contacted several construction stores, wholesale and retail points of sale of cement, which confirmed shortages. Cement is expected to be back in stock within 10 days.
Cement production grows in 2025 in Kyrgyzstan
25 March 2025Kyrgyzstan: Production of cement grew by 48% in the first two months of 2025 to 0.29Mt, according to the National Statistical Committee. Production in January 2025 was 0.12Mt. This follows a rise in cement imports by over 300% year-on-year in January 2025.
Kyrgyzstan cement imports up by over threefold
17 March 2025Kyrgyzstan: Cement imports rose by 330% year-on-year to 38,000t in January 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee. Kazakhstan supplied 24,700t, Uzbekistan 13,100t and Iran 189t. Total cement imports in 2024 increased by 220% to 0.5Mt, while domestic production rose by 4.3% to 3.1Mt.

21 February 2025Kyrgyzstan: Cement production rose by 20% year-on-year to 118,000t in January 2025, according to the National Statistical Committee.
The country's cement production increased by 4% year-on-year to 3.1Mt in 2024. Cement imports rose by 120% to 0.5Mt.
Kyrgyzstan: 174,800t of cement entered Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2024, more than double first-half 2023 import volumes of 83,200t. Neighbouring Kazakhstan supplied 152,000t (87%) of the total, according to data from the Kyrgyz National Statistical Committee. Central Asia News has reported that other imports originated from China, Iran and Uzbekistan.
Kyrgyzstan’s first-half cement production declined by 2% year-on-year in the period under review, to 1.3Mt. However, it grew by 10% year-on-year in June 2024. The country exported 190,000t of cement throughout the first half of 2024, all of it to Uzbekistan, down by 21% from first-half 2023 levels.
Kyrgyzstan: Cement production in Kyrgyzstan totalled 1.01Mt from January to May 2024, a decline of 5.7% year-on-year from 1.08Mt, according to data from the country’s National Statistics Committee. May 2024 saw production of 0.36Mt of cement, a rise of 10.5% year-on-year from May 2023.
