Pakistan: Cement exports rose by 5% year-on-year to US$188m in the first seven months of the 2024 financial year, while volumes increased by 35% year-on-year to 5.27Mt, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The country's cement exports grew by 40% year-on-year to US$20.6m in January 2025, but fell by 35% month-on-month from US$31.9m in December 2024. This suggests strong international demand, accompanied by short-term fluctuations in global shipments.

Pakistan: Cement exports have increased by 23% to US$167m from July to December 2024, compared to US$136m in the same period of 2023, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Export volumes rose by 34% from 3.51Mt to 4.69Mt. In December 2024, exports grew by 45% year-on-year to US$31.9m, up from US$22m in December 2023. The data also showed a 3% month-on-month rise in December 2024 compared to November 2024.

Pakistan: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has launched an investigation into alleged collusion between cement companies that may have been the cause of a localised cement price spike in northern Pakistan. On 25 July 2020 the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) recorded cement price rises of up to 8.9% in Punjab and Khyber Pakthunkhwa compared to a month earlier, according to the Profit newspaper. Officials had predicted a nationwide price drop after the government abandoned the Federal Excise Duty (FED) on cement in June 2020. Prices have decreased by a small margin in the southern regions of Balochistan and Sindh.

The Ministry of Industries and Production previously asked producers to lower cement costs in May 2020 in order to boost construction in the interest of the post-coronavirus lockdown economic recovery.

Pakistan: Data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows that cement exports fell by 2.5% year-on-year to 1.16Mt in the second quarter of 2019 from 1.22Mt in the same period in 2018. After a strong first quarter exports remained high in April 2019 before starting to decline in May and June. Overall, exports rose by 22.8% year-on-year to 2.7Mt in the first half of 2019.

Pakistan: Data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows that cement exports grew by 40% year-on-year to 6.41Mt in the financial year to the end of June 2019 from 4.56Mt in the same period in 2018. The value of the exports rose by 22% to US$272m from US$223m.
