Cheonnaeri Cement upgrades Cheonae cement plant
12 June 2023North Korea: State-owned Cheonnaeri Cement has completed a successful upgrade to its 1Mt/yr Cheonae cement plant in South Hamgyong Province. Korean News has reported that the upgrade involved the replacement of the plant's clinker cooler, burners and clinker and raw materials handling systems. A new bucket conveyor has more than doubled raw materials handling capacity.
Cheonnaeri Cement reportedly plans to further expand the capacity of the plant.
Turkey: MEDCEM plans to expand its Silifke cement plant's clinker capacity by 90% to 6.5Mt/yr. Germany-based Aumund will supply the upgrade with 41 different machines. The package comprises six belt bucket elevators, two chain bucket elevators, four pan conveyors and 11 drag chain conveyors, with capacities up to 900t/hr. The order also includes 13 silo discharge gates for belt conveyors and five telescopic chutes for truck loading. The supplier will deliver the goods in October 2022, for scheduled commissioning in January 2023.
Aumund Fördertechnik to supply equipment for Bursa Çimento Fabrikasi’s Bursa cement plant upgrade
19 July 2022Turkey: Germany-based Aumund Fördertechnik has secured a contract to supply equipment for a sustainability-enhancing upgrade to Bursa Çimento Fabrikasi’s Bursa cement plant. The order consists of six belt bucket elevators, four chain bucket elevators, seven pan conveyors, three arched plate conveyors, three spillage conveyors and three drag chain conveyors. The equipment will be involved in cement production from raw material preparation through to clinker grinding.
The Bursa cement plant currently operates using an Aumund bucket apron conveyor and chain bucket elevators.
Turkmenistan: Aumund has won a contract to equip Baherden Cement’s Ahal cement plant with three 300t/hr belt bucket elevators, three 450t/hr bucket elevators with central chain, a 1030t/hr double chain bucket elevator, two 200t/hr pan conveyors and 11 silo discharge gates. The equipment will serve raw materials preparation through to clinker grinding operations at the plant’s upcoming 1Mt/yr new line. Turkey-based cement plant builder Bilim Makina will receive the order.
India: Aumund Engineering India has been selected by ACC to refurbish a 175.3m high bucket elevator, the tallest in the world. The elevator is installed at ACC’s Wadi Cement plant in Karnataka where it is used for raw meal pre-heater transport at a rate of 600t/hr.
Originally, the machine was fitted with a steel cord belt of width 1320mm and tension rating of 3150N/mm. Aumund has decided to offer an alternative based on its own design concept resulting in a belt width of 1300mm but with higher tension rating of 4000N/mm with a bucket size of 1250mm at bucket spacing of 450mm. The Aumund belt concept will use continuous close pitch longitudinal ropes without rope free bucket mounting spaces. However, it will use additional wire ropes running laterally across the width of the belt adding lateral stiffness without significantly changing the belt longitudinal flexibility. This cross-stabilised construction is intended to improve stability to the belt with improved bucket fixing.
To make the necessary belt punching, Aumund has developed a special punching machine design which gives clean fixing holes that are accurately aligned relative to the belt edge and at precisely the correct pitch. The belt is held in a cassette and advanced automatically under the punching frame using a precision encoder to measure the pitch. The belts are prepared at the Aumund production in Rheinberg, Germany and shipped to site at the exact required dimensions including a prepared joint and the required clamping connection.
In addition to the new belt the elevator will also be fitted with new drive pulley including friction linings and rubber bucket mounting strips. The casings, inlet and outlet plus the complete drive unit remain unchanged.
No commissioning date for the project has been announced.
Turkey: Aslan Cement, part of Oyak Cement Group, has placed an order with Germany’s Aumund Fördertechnik for its Darıca plant in Kocaeli Province. The order is part of a project to increase the plant’s clinker production capacity to 6600t/day. The machines are due to be dispatched in September 2019 and commissioning is planned for the beginning of 2020. No value for the order has been disclosed.
The order includes a 225t/hr bucket elevator with a BWZ-L (low capacity) central chain type and a centre distance of 27m to feed the raw meal mill as well as three different models of BWG belt bucket elevators with capacities up to 500t/hr and centre distances up to 132m. The belt bucket elevators will also be used for raw meal silo feed as well as to transport raw meal to the dosing hopper and the heat exchanger. The order also includes three KZB type pan conveyors, each with capacities of 350t/hr and centre distances of up to 77.2m to convey clinker from the cooler to the silo, as well as two LOUISE BEW type rotary discharge machines, each with a diameter of 3m and a capacity of 400 t/hr.
Aumund India wins orders in conjunction with FLSmidth projects
14 December 2016India: Aumund India has been awarded orders for 17 bucket elevators, eight silo discharge systems and one pan conveyor in connection to orders FLSmidth has received from Tamilnadu Cement, Akij Cement and Shah Cement.
Aumund India will deliver one type BW-ZL bucket elevator, one type BWG belt bucket elevator and three type BWG-GK belt bucket elevators instead of the conventional Aumund type BWZ bucket elevator for the Akij Cement project. For the Tamilnadu Cement project FLSmidth had specific design criteria and wanted a certain safety factor for the chain. So Aumund India provided an optimised solution, which met these specific criteria. It will deliver two type BW-ZL bucket elevators, eight type BWG bucket elevators, eight type SDI silo discharge systems and one type KZB deep drawn pan conveyor. For the Shah Cement project Aumund India will deliver two type BWZ bucket elevators.
Beumer supplies world's highest bucket elevator to ACC
20 April 2016India: Beumer Group has supplied a HGBW-HC 1250 x 175.3m belt bucket elevator to the ACC cement plant in Wadi. Beumer says it is the highest such bucket elevator in the world with a distance of 175.3m between the centres. The size of this system enables a flow rate of around 600t/hour to be achieved, supported by high-strength steel wire belts. Previously Beumer has supplied bucket elevators with a height of 174m and 171m to ACC.
