Schenck Process launches Multidos VDP-C apron weighfeeder
26 September 2017Germany: Schenck Process has launched the Multidos VDP-C apron weighfeeder, a new range of medium-sized and compact apron weighfeeders targeted at raw material feeding, hot clinker feeding and similar applications.
The Multidos VDP-C uses an enclosed design to enable a cleaner installation environment with inspection access offered by removable covers. Alternatively, an open design is possible for permanently visible material feed. The kit structure of Multidos VDP-C enables installation in a total of 48 possible geometrical configurations to suit plant requirements. It can be installed on the ground or suspended under a bin.
The chain used on the Multidos VDP-C can tolerate a drive torque four times higher than required. In addition, apron pans accept loads up to six times higher than the nominal load. Apron pans are available for fine grain material and alternative designs for sticky and coarse material. The coarse material apron pans are made of Hardox steel for strength and service life.
Berthold Technologies launches LB 472 bulk flow system
26 September 2017Germany: Berthold Technologies has launched its new DuoSeries Transmitter LB 472 bulk flow system. It is intended to for use determining mass flow in bulk industries and can be added to conveying systems. The product uses a non-contacting, non-intrusive radiometric belt weigher with no moving parts. This can be installed directly after bunkers, chute outlets or transfer systems. The bulk flow system provides measuring results on the current flowrate and the total produced mass. The DuoSeries Transmitter LB 472 provides a local display of measurement values as well as on-site operation via the integrated touch panel.
Vortex Global appoints Pladot as Israeli sales agent
03 August 2017Israel: Vortex Global has appointed Pladot as its new sales agent in Israel. Pladot builds mechanical and hydraulic systems for a variety of industries including packaging, process plants, food and beverage producers and more.
Germany: Schmersal Group has entered into a sales partnership with ScanMin Africa to extend its range of system solutions for the bulk goods industry. Schmersal will add spectral analysis and measurement systems for bulk goods on conveyor belts to its range of integrated system products. ScanMin Africa will distribute safety products made by Schmersal.
“We can now offer extended system solutions that contribute to our customer’s ability to produce more productively and profitably in bulk goods conveying and also the downstream processes,” said Udo Sekin, Business Development Manager Heavy Industry within the Schmersal Group.
Germany’s Schmersal Group develops and produces a range of about 25,000 different switchgear and control devices. South Africa’s ScanMin Africa specialises in the manufacture and distribution of on line process analysers.
Holcim Romania opens cement terminal at Roman
12 July 2017Romania: Holcim Romania has opened a Euro0.5m cement terminal in the town of Roman in Neamț County. The new unit will mainly supply cement to customers in the Moldovan region of the country. The 13,120m2 terminal has a railway connection and loading equipment for both bulk and bagged cement.
UK: Vortex’s Loading Solutions product line has gained Zone 20 (internal) and Zone 21 (external) ATEX certification in the European Union (EU). The certification allows Vortex to broaden its international reach and enter an established European market for loading spouts, chutes and bellows as ATEX certification is required for equipment sold through the EU. The UK’s SGS Baseefa assisted Vortex in gaining certification over a year-long process.
Vortex Loading Solutions are designed to capture fugitive dust, prevent material waste, ensure plant and environmental safety, and minimise maintenance and service expenses for bulk solids applications.
Sweden: The UK’s Vortex Global has started a partnership with LM Bulk & Materialhantering (LMB) to promote its sales in Sweden. The solids and bulk handling components company plans to increase its market by targeting the growing demand for powders and granulates among Swedish manufacturers.
Vortex provides slide gates, diverters, iris valves and loading spouts designed specifically for handling dry bulk solids in gravity, vacuum, dilute or dense phase applications. LMB designs complete hardware facilities for transport, mixing and storage of powders and granules, focusing its practice in the food, chemical, plastics, cement and energy industries.
Flexicon launches weigh hopper with fill-pass valve
20 January 2017UK: Flexicon has launched a weigh hopper with a ‘Fill/Pass’ valve for dilute-phase pneumatic conveying systems. The ‘Fill/Pass’ valve allows material to pass through the valve or to fill a hopper based on weight gain signals transmitted from load cells to the system's controller.
Suspended from three small-scale load cells, the bulk handling company says that the gain-in-weight hopper delivers higher accuracy than loss-of-weight systems requiring higher-capacity load cells. Single or multiple hoppers can be positioned along a common vacuum or positive pressure pneumatic conveying line for the discharging of dry bulk solids into single or multiple process equipment, storage vessels or downstream use points by weight. Downstream of the last ‘Fill/Pass’ valve, the conveying line can be routed to the original material source point or into a dust collection device.
SEA-Invest orders Samson Eco Hopper for project in Ivory Coast
