China Resources Building Materials Technology expects 2024 profit to drop by 62 – 72%
14 February 2025China: China Resources Building Materials Technology expects its full-year profit to have dropped by 62 – 72% year-on-year in 2024, Reuters has reported. This would correspond to a gross profit of US$579 – 786m, compared to US$2.07bn in 2023. The producer attributed the anticipated decline to ‘lower gross margins’ in its various businesses.
China: China Resources Building Materials Technology (CRBMT) subsidiary Tianyang Cement has concluded a ‘full-process intelligent cement plant’ pilot at its 2.81Mt/yr Baise cement plant in Guangxi Province. Tianyang Cement said that the pilot entailed an upgrade that has more than doubled Baise cement plant’s production volumes and reduced its CO2 emissions per tonne of cement by 24%. Tianyang Cement says that automation has reduced the plant’s unplanned shutdowns by 56% and improved product quality.
China: China Resources Building Materials Technology (CRMBT) has issued a profit warning for the first nine months of 2023. The producer expects the profit attributable to its owners to drop by 59 – 63% year-on-year. This is partly due to its previous one-off gain from a divestment worth US$239m in the corresponding period in 2022.
China: China Resources Cement (CRC) has rebranded to China Resources Building Materials Technology (CRBMT). The producer says that this reflects its business positioning and development strategy, and marks the launch of its transformation into a building materials group around its existing cement business.
