UK: Terex Conveying Systems has appointed Neil Robinson as its Business Line Director. He will oversee the management of mobile conveyors offered across all Terex brands, including ProStack and Marco. Robinson has worked for Terex for 18 years, most recently as Product Director for Powerscreen. Robinson originally started working for the company in 2006 as a Design Engineer.
UK: Germany-based Aumund Group has appointed Martin Dummigan as the managing director of its Samson Materials Handling subsidiary. He succeeds Dale Lockley in the post.
Dummigan holds a master’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Queen’s University in Belfast. He started his career in 1990 as a research and development engineer. Over the next 30 years he has held numerous manufacturing and corporate management positions at companies including Telestack and Terex in various countries including China, the US, Japan and South Africa. His last position was as the Group Vice President of Operations for Astec Material Solutions. He is also a co-founder of the Spadetown Brewery based in Northern Ireland.
Terex Materials Processing makes appointments at Terex Finlay, EvoQuip and Terex Materials Processing
09 December 2020UK: Northern Ireland-based Terex Materials Processing has appointed Matt Dickson as Business Line Director for Terex Finlay and General Manager of its Omagh site, and Barry O’Hare as Business Line Director for EvoQuip. Paul O’Donnell, the previous Business Line Director for Terex Finlay, will become the Director of Strategic Sourcing at Terex Materials Processing.
Dickson has led the EvoQuip business for the last four years and holds a commercial and engineering background. He previously worked for Terex Finlay in Omagh for over 10 years, eventually becoming its Engineering Director.
O’Hare holds experience in the crushing and screening industry, having worked in several positions for Powerscreen and Terex MPS over the past 12 years. Most recently, he worked on strategic and operational sales for EvoQuip and led the development and management of territory sales.
UAE: India-based JSW Cement has applied to borrow between US$50m and US$55m from two UAE-based banks to continue development on its planned 1Mt/yr integrated Fujairah plant, the capacity of which it plans to double to 2Mt/yr within a year of its scheduled January 2020 opening. Arabian Business has reported that the loan will bring the project’s total investment to US$110m with a 30:70 equity/debt ratio. The government has granted JSW Cement a 35-year quarry lease and a licence for the extraction of up to 6Mt/yr of limestone for use at the plant, which will be served by a Terex MPS 1200t/hr crushing plant.
550 local people directly or indirectly employed in cement production at Fujairah.
CalPortland awarded equipment grant for Oro Grande cement plant
18 November 2019US: CalPortland has been awarded a US$175,000 grant from the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District (MDAQMD) to replace a 1999 Terex Bore/Drill rig with a 2019 Caterpillar MD2650 drill. The new drill expects to see a 76% reduction on average in nitrogen oxides (NOx), reactive organic gases (ROG) and particulate matter (PM) combined. The grant comes from the Carl Moyer Program, which provides monetary grants to private companies and public agencies to clean up their heavy-duty engines beyond legal requirements through retrofitting, repowering or replacing their engines with newer and cleaner ones.
Terex MPS launches TG series cone crushers
06 June 2019US: Terex MPS has launched the TG series of cone crushers as part of its Cedarapids range. The bronze bushing spider bearing cone product is intended to complement the company’s MVPX Series (screw type cone) and the TC Series (floating bowl cone).
The new spider bearing range will consist of four models focused on the aggregate and recycling industries: the TG120 (120HP); TG220 (220HP); TG320 (320HP); and TG420 (420HP). Each model is available in two versions: the TG (tertiary) and TGS (secondary). There will also be two larger models available for large capacity mining and quarrying applications: the TG820 (820HP) and the TG1020 (1020HP).
US/Canada: Terex says that its Terex Washing Systems (TWS) brand is investing in its North American sales and operational teams. Following the spend it will have 20 regional partners via 50 service depots, 60 mobile trucks and 100 technicians in the region.
“Our new enhanced levels of sales and service and support will build upon momentum gained in recent years as we continue to focus on serving customers, with world-class washing equipment solutions that add commercial value to their operations,” said TWS’ director Oliver Donnelly.
TWS manufactures products for the mineral washing sector for aggregate, recycling, mining and industrial sand industries.
EvoQuip enters the Baltic region
25 January 2019Estonia/Latvia/Lithuania: UK-based EvoQuip has appointed Stokker as the authorised EvoQuip Distributor to cover Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for the full EvoQuip portfolio of compact crushing and screening equipment. EvoQuip is a brand owned by Terex Corporation.
US: Terex Corporation has completed the sale of its Material Handling and Port Solutions (MHPS) business to Finland’s Konecranes for US$595m and Euro200m in cash and 19.6 million newly issued class B shares representing a 25% interest in Konecranes. The final transaction is subject to post-closing adjustments for cash, debt, working capital, MHPS actual 2016 EBITDA and the closing of the sale of the Stahl CraneSystems business.
“We believe that the Konecranes-MHPS combination represents compelling industrial logic that will deliver significant value to Konecranes’ customers, team members and shareholders, including Terex,” said John L Garrison, Terex president and chief executive officer.
