Dyckerhoff Cement reports 2014 net loss and considers new approaches

Ukraine: Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine has reported a net loss of Euro8136 for 2014, a net revenue of Euro398,695. Compared to 2013, its net loss fell 7.2-fold and its revenue fell 6.6-fold.

Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine plans to acquire the Volyn Cement plant in Rivne and the YUGcement plant in Mykolaiv. The plants are already part of Dyckerhoff and would be turned into separate divisions in order to increase sales in Ukraine. The planned production capacity of Volyn Cement is 2Mt/yr, while YUGcement produces 1.25Mt/yr of cement.

Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine's shareholders will also consider the early termination of powers of the current supervisory board and the election of a new one.

Volyn Cement removes two supervisory board members

Ukraine: On 1 January 2014 Volyn Cement (part of Dyckerhoff Ukraine) relieved two members of the supervisory board, chairman of the supervisory board Otto Lose and supervisory board member Volker Sonnabend. The posts remain vacant.

Volyn Cement suffered a loss of Euro2.69m in 2012 according to the International Financial Reporting Standards. Its net revenues increased by 1.85% year-on-year to Euro59.2m in 2011.

Ukraine cement producers report losses in 2012

Ukraine: Volyn Cement has reported a loss of Euro2.86m for 2012. It recorded a net profit of Euro1.75m in 2011. The company based in Zdolbuniv, Rivne region, saw its net revenue remain stable at Euro62.8m. Multinational cement producer Dyckerhoff owns 98.4% of the shares in Volyn Cement.

Podilskiy Cement has reported a loss of Euro9.6m for 2012. The Khmelnytskyi region-based cement producer saw net revenue rise by 31.2% to Euro92.8m in 2012. Podilskiy Cement's plant has six kilns with a production capacity of 3.7Mt/yr. The business is controlled Ireland's Cement Roadstone Holdings.
