Wonder Cement orders mills from Gebr. Pfeiffer
25 December 2025India: Wonder Cement has ordered roller mills from Germany-based Gebr. Pfeiffer for use at the cement producer’s new plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
An MVR 6000 R-6 mill will be used for raw meal. It will reportedly be one of the largest raw mills in the country. It will have a mill drive power of 6725kW and a capacity of 1000t/hr. It will include an integrated SLS 6000 VR high-performance classifier to meet a product fineness of 2% residue on a 212µm screen.
A MPS 3550 BK vertical roller mill will be used for coal grinding. It will be equipped with a mill drive of 1840kW and a capacity of 65t/hr petcoke or 100t/hr coal.
The project is being carried out in close cooperation between Gebr. Pfeiffer’s subsidiary in India and the company in Germany. The order will include Gebr. Pfeiffer’s 15th mill for Wonder Cement. Installation of the new mills is planned by the end of 2026.
Anurag Srivastava appointed as CEO of Kanodia Cement
10 September 2025India: Kanodia Cement has appointed Anurag Srivastava as its CEO, according to the Economic Times newspaper.
Srivastava started his career in telecoms before joining Jaiprakash Associates in 2010. He later became the Business Unit Head - Sales & Marketing for Heidelberg Materials in central India in 2015 before joining Wonder Cement in 2017. He became the Executive Vice President (S&M) at Wonder Cement in 2022. Srivastava holds a PhD in Business, Management, Marketing and Related Drivers from the Faculty of Management Studies and a master’s of business administration from the Indian Institute of Management.
India: Wonder Cement’s managing director Kiran Patil led the inauguration of Line 5 at the Nimbahera plant in Rajasthan on 7 May 2025, according to a social media post by the producer. The project increased the producer’s clinker capacity by 2.8Mt/yr to 13.35Mt/yr and cement capacity by 2.5Mt/yr to 21.5Mt/yr. The company partnered with APBCO on the expansion, which also includes a 12MW waste heat recovery system to increase energy efficiency.
Sanjiv Waid appointed as State Head at Wonder Cement
24 July 2024India: Wonder Cement has appointed Sanjiv Waid as State Head. He previously worked as a Sales Marketing Manager for Ambuja Cements and has held roles with Nuvoco Vistas and ACC. He holds a bachelor’s in Industrial Chemistry from Delhi University.
Wonder Cement completes construction of Tulsigam grinding plant
02 January 2024India: Wonder Cement says that it has completed the construction of its new Tulsigam grinding plant in Gujarat. The Economic Times newspaper has reported that the new grinding plant will integrate with Wonder Cement’s existing facilities, including the Nimbahera cement plant in Rajasthan, and grinding plants in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
The Tulsigam grinding plant will raise Wonder Cement’s capacity to 18Mt/yr, following the expansion of the Nimbahera cement plant to 11Mt/yr and the inauguration of the new Aligarh grinding plant in 2023.
Wonder Cement director Vivek Patni said "Each strategic move, including our new Tulsigam grinding unit, is aligned with our commitment to cater to India’s evolving infrastructural demands. We're poised for continued growth and are deeply committed to quality, innovation and societal impact."
Wonder Cement to build US$66.4m cement facility in Gujarat
09 August 2023India: Wonder Cement has concluded a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with authorities to build a cement production facility in Desar, Gujarat. The Times of India newspaper has reported that the producer plans to invest US$66.4m in the new facility.
India: Local people have launched a protest outside Wonder Cement's Kherwas grinding plant in Madhya Pradesh. The Free Press Journal has reported that the protestors are requesting that the company provide more jobs to people from the plant's host community. They stated their intent in memoranda submitted to the plant management and the local government. Local rules require companies operating plants in the area to appoint applicants from the local community to 75% of plant jobs.
Wonder Cement is a subsidiary of Rajasthan-based RK Group.
Wonder Cement ignites Chittorgarh cement plant's fourth kiln
21 November 2022India: Wonder Cement has completed a successful kiln ignition in its Chittorgarh cement plant's new Line 4. The three pre-existing lines gave the plant a former capacity of 8Mt/yr. Wonder Cement additionally operates grinding plants in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, with a total capacity of 5Mt/yr.
Vice chair Vimal Patni's technical assistant Lokesh Lohar congratulated the entire Chittorgarh cement plant team on its work on the latest expansion.
India: Wonder Cement says that its Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, cement plant’s electricity consumption fell by 1.8GWh year-on-year in 2021. It attributed the reduction to its use of an ACS880 slip power recovery system (SPRS) supplied by ABB India.
ABB India’s Motion business president Sanjeev Arora said “This project puts forth how we are one of the most trusted partners for customers when it comes to energy efficiency. He said that the company ‘has constantly promoted technologies that help in driving country’s carbon-neutral future,’ concluding “Our solutions are aiding businesses across India to cut energy expenses and decarbonise their operations.”
Wonder Cements dispatches first delivery of cement from Nardana grinding plant to Ahmednagar
27 October 2021India: Wonder Cements has dispatched cement from its Nardana, Maharashtra, grinding plant via a new rail route to Ahmednagar, also in Maharashtra. The Free Press Journal newspaper has reported that Wonder Cement plans to extend its use of the route 'in the near future' to send cement by rail to Mumbai Port. Western Railway's Mumbai Division expects to receive revenues of US$26,700/yr for use of its services. At its current rates, this would equate to annual deliveries of 383t.
