India: Beumer will establish a production site in Reliance MET City, Jhajjar, with an investment of more than US$24m. The site covers over four hectares and represents a strategic expansion for Beumer's subsidiary, Beumer India. Construction is set to begin in mid 2024 with the plant's inauguration scheduled for September 2025.
Beumer buys the Hendrik Group
14 June 2023US: Beumer Group has acquired the Hendrik Group for an undisclosed sum. It plans to expand its portfolio of bulk material transport with a focus on alternative fuels and raw materials for both the cement and mining sectors. The technology it is buying will also give it capabilities in the bulk handling of hazardous materials.
Markus Schmidt, the chief executive officer of Beumer Corporation, said “The Hendrik Group specialises in the efficient and environmentally friendly transport of bulk materials. This aligns very well with our goals of bringing sustainable products to the market and improving our customers’ carbon footprint.”
The Hendrik Group is a US-based manufacturer of air-supported belt conveyors. It was founded in 1983 by Henk Hartsuiker and is based in Woodbury, Connecticut.
Beumer Group opens new head office in the UK
28 April 2023UK: Germany-based Beumer Group has opened a new local head office at Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire. The previous head office in the country, near London, will continue to operate as a satellite office.
David McGarry, the chief executive officer of Beumer Group UK, said “The opening of the new UK head office reinforces our strong partnership and commitment to our customers in the UK and Ireland, this will enable us to provide an even more seamless service to support them in their continued growth investing in local expertise in the long term.”
Beumer Group sells products for conveying, loading, palletising, packaging, sortation and baggage handling.
Beumer Group launches modular Paletpac palletiser
15 March 2023Germany: Beumer has redesigned its Paletpac palletiser on a modular pattern. The new design comprises modules that can be picked from either side, and reduce the necessary forklift capacity for configuration to 5t from 8t.
Product business divisional director Kay Wieczorek said "The performance of the machines can be modified at a later time if necessary, and if there is ever a need for retrofitting or repairs, the new design saves a lot of time.”
Markus Schmidt appointed as head of Beumer Corporation
08 March 2023US: Markus Schmidt has been appointed as the president and chief executive officer of Beumer Corporation, a subsidiary of Germany-based Beumer Group.
Schmidt joins the company from Swisslog Logistics, where he worked for 25 years. His last position with the logistics company was as President, Swisslog Americas. He holds a diploma from the University of Cologne in Germany and further qualifications from the University of California - Berkeley, the University of Virginia - Darden School of Business and the University of St Gallen in Switzerland.
Beumer Group to exhibit at Solids Dortmund
08 February 2023Germany: Beumer Group is preparing to exhibit at the Solids Dortmund trade fair on 29 – 30 March 2023. The supplier will be showcasing its equipment for conveying, loading, palletising and packaging various bulk materials for the cement, building materials and chemical industries. Solids Dortmund covers equipment for granules, powder and bulk solids technologies.
Kay Wieczorek appointed as Head of the Center of Competence Product Business at Beumer Group
18 January 2023Germany: Beumer Group has appointed Kay Wieczorek as the Head of its Center of Competence (COC) Product Business. The division is responsible for the Cement, Building Materials, Chemicals and FMCG divisions. He succeeds Norbert Stemich, who has been appointed as the chief strategy officer of Beumer Machinery (Shanghai) in China.
Kay Wieczorek has worked for Beumer Group since 2014. Most recently he was responsible for cement division sales. He holds a degree in Sales Engineering and Product Management from the Ruhr University in Bochum.
Beumer Group appoints V-Line Middle East as Saudi service provider
14 December 2022Saudi Arabia: Beumer Group has appointed V-Line Middle East to provide services for its customers in Saudi Arabia. Beumer Group said that the new partnership will help it to strengthen its focus on sales in the region.
Beumer Group’s director of sales André Tissen said “Our partnership will bring us closer to customers and strengthen our customer service in key industries. Through V-Line Middle East, we can offer our customers in Saudi Arabia access to a network of local specialised suppliers, augmenting our range of services.”
Mexico: Beumer Group has won a contract to supply Cooperativa La Cruz Azul’s cement plants with 14 new 5500 – 6000 bag/hr palletisers. The cement company made the decision to modernise palletising operations at its plants following a law change requiring cement to be packaged in 25kg bags, instead of 50kg, from the start of 2023. Beumer Group plans to deliver the first five palletisers in the third quarter of 2022. The other nine machines will follow by 2023.
The supplier said “Cruz Azul and Beumer Group have had a trustful and successful partnership for decades. The system provider has convinced with its highly developed and sustainable technology and a sophisticated concept, which will enable the cement manufacturer to achieve the required performance in its packaging terminal” It continued “Covid-19 presented a particular challenge in this project. Due to the pandemic, it was not possible for Beumer experts to be on site with the customer in person. All concepts were discussed, debated and agreed online and with the support of the local group company in Mexico City.”
Beumer Group acquires FAM Group
13 June 2022Germany: Beumer Group has completed its acquisition of conveyor systems and loading technology supplier FAM Group.
Beumer Group says that the acquisition expands its portfolio and complements its competence in the project planning of plants with FAM Group’s know-how and global positioning throughout the entire value chain, including aftersales service.
