Jeon Gun-Sik appointed as president of Hanil Cement
26 October 2022South Korea: Hanil Cement has appointed its chief executive officer (CEO) and vice-president Jeon Gun-Sik as its president. He first joined the company in 1991, according to the Maeil Business Newspaper. He worked as the vice plant manager of the Danyang Plant, the head of the business planning department, the head of the business division and the executive vice-president of the head office of Hanil Hyundai Cement. Notably in 2017 he oversaw the acquisition of Hyundai Cement, a subsidiary now known as Hanil Hyundai Cement, that he also runs as CEO and president.
Robert Bunting appointed as head of Bunting
26 October 2022US: Bunting has appointed Robert Bunting as its president and chief executive officer. He succeeds his father, Bob Bunting, in the role. Bunting Senior has now become chair of the company.
Robert Bunting joined Bunting’s Elk Grove Village magnet sales team in 2007. He later became the company’s Global Product Manager for Metal Detection in 2014 and then General Manager of Bunting Elk Grove Village in 2016. He previously sat on the business intelligence committee for PMMI (The Association for Packaging and Processing) and is the marketing director of the Process Equipment Manufacturers' Association (PEMA) at present. He holds a degree in business management at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri and previously worked for Sun Life Financial.
Bunting is a designer and manufacturer of magnetic separators, metal detectors, magnets, magnetic assemblies and magnetising equipment. The company has its headquarters in Newton, Kansas. It was originally founded in 1959 in Chicago, Illinois by Walter F Bunting, the grandfather of Robert Bunting.
Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies appoints Stéphanie Bondoux director of certification and accreditation
25 August 2021France: Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies has appointed Stéphanie Bondoux as its director of certification and accreditation. In her new role, Bondoux will help the company to comply with France’s technical norms and standard practices. In order to ensure that it continues to meet the highest industry standards, she will assess the performance, the sustainability of solutions and the safety of the various applications while fostering Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies’s policy of innovation. This will involve close collaboration with both the producer’s testing segment and accreditation bodies.
Bondoux was previously head of accreditations and regulatory frameworks for Liechtenstein-based building materials producer Hilti's Western Europe business, having begun her career as a fastening product manager there. She holds a master's degree in marketing from Sorbonne University, Paris.
Saudi Cement appoints Mansour Balghonaim to board
25 August 2021Saudi Arabia: Mansour Balghonaim has taken a seat on the board of Saudi Cement, effective retroactively from 30 June 2021. Blaghonaim has 16 years’ experience in banking and is head of business development wholesale banking at Gulf International Bank. He acquired his degree in finance from King Saud University, Riyadh.
US: Testing technology supplier Forney has named Jennifer Galligane as its new Product Development Manager, with the task of ‘driving the company's technological and commercial advances.’ Galligane will be responsible for overseeing the Forney Software as a Service (SaaS) team, driving Forney SaaS technology advancements and ensuring strategic alignment of customer needs with the SaaS roadmap, leading the overall delivery process and collaborating with customers, sales and marketing, and engineering.
Galligane has 25 years of software industry experience and extensive knowledge of SaaS and eCommerce product development. Prior to joining Forney, she was Law firm Fragomen’s technical delivery senior manager, having previously held product management, eCommerce and engineering positions with a variety of companies, including Westinghouse Electric Co., Smith Micro Software, Coventry Health Care and Highmark Health. Galligane has a computer science degree and an information science master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Forney’s CEO Jeff Dziki said "With ForneyVault technology now in five countries and more than 100 labs, Jennifer will help us meet market demands and seize opportunities to continue to grow." He added "Jennifer's experience as a product management leader at a number of companies, large and small, will be extremely important for advancing ForneyVault products."
Eric Adams becomes managing director of Eriez Deutschland
11 August 2021Germany: US-based separation company Eriez has appointed Eric Adams as Managing Director of its newly established Germany-based subsidiary Eriez Deutschland. The new role will see Adams working to increase Eriez’ presence throughout central Europe. He will report to Eriez’s Vice President - International Jaisen Kohmuench.
Adams has three decades of experience in technical sales of capital equipment prior to joining Eriez as a sales. He previously worked for Germany-based Fördertechnik, Noell Service und Maschinentechnik and Herrenknecht, before joining Steinert Elektromagnetbau as general sales manager.
Eriez CEO and president Lukas Guenthardt said “Eric has been working closely with our executive team at Eriez-Europe to craft and execute a comprehensive business plan that addresses the needs of the German market.” He added “We recognise that this area of Europe is far too important to properly serve via an independent agent or distributor and therefore requires a direct and constant presence in the form of Eriez Deutschland, guided by the strong leadership of Eric.”
Greece: Switzerland-based LafargeHolcim subsidiary Heracles Group has established a Direction for Sustainable Development. The producer said that Charalampos Kouris will head the Direction, with the aim of building a more sustainable present for a better future. It will realise this by pursuing four pillars: climate, circular economy, nature and local communities. Regarding the first of these, it will follow the EU Green Deal climate neutrality roadmap.
Chief executive officer Dimitris Hanis said “We are pleased with the appointment of Mr Kouris as the first head of sustainable development and welcome him to the group's executive committee. The establishment of the new Direction will further reinforce our effort to ensure a healthy and safe workplace for our people while at the same time fighting our own battle against our climate change impact."
Australia: FCT Group has appointed Adriano Greco as its chief executive officer (CEO). He succeeds Constantine Manias in the role, who will retain the post of executive chairman.
Greco has served the company as American regional CEO since 2015 and implemented its Brazilian business. He brings over 20 years of pyro-processing experience from management roles in the Americas, China and Europe while working for Greco Combustion Systems and Gebr. Pfeiffer.
Switzerland: LafargeHolcim has expanded former chief sustainability officer Magali Anderson’s role to chief sustainability and innovation officer. The new role additionally includes leadership of the group’s research and development strategy and organisation. Anderson will also oversee external innovation collaborations with the academic world. The group says that the combination of sustainability and innovation aims to increase impact across both areas.
Chief executive officer Jan Jenisch said, “I am delighted to appoint Magali as our chief sustainability and innovation officer. Under her leadership, we opened a new chapter in our climate action with our Net Zero pledge and growing range of green building solutions, from ECOPact to Ecolabel. Sustainability is a game-changer in our industry and innovation is the most effective catalyst to scale up our impact. By aligning our sustainability and research and development organisations under Magali’s direction, I look forward to stepping up our pace and pipeline of innovation to build a net zero future.”
Anderson, a French national and mechanical engineer, holds international industry experience, acquired in a variety of general management, operational and functional roles in countries such as Brazil, Nigeria, Indonesia, Angola, Romania and China. She joined LafargeHolcim in 2016 as Head of Health & Safety before taking on the role of Chief Sustainability Officer. She is on the advisory boards of the World Green Building Council (WGBC), MIT Climate & Sustainability Consortium, LafargeHolcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction and Business for Nature, as well as co-chair of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) Built Environment and the Global Concrete and Cement Association (GCCA) 2050 roadmap projects. She is also a mentor at the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) in Paris, a nonprofit organisation that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies.

China: Color Star Technology, owner of Beijing Xin Ao Concrete Group and Beijing Ao Hang Construction Materials Technology, has announced the Appointment of Hung-Jen Kuo to its board of directors. Kuo will chair the nominating and corporate governance committee and sit on the audit committee and the compensation committee. He is executive president of Fosun Capital and was previously security services director and head of Deutsche Bank China and managing director of Gopher Asset Management.
CEO Biao Lu said, “Mr Kuo is a great addition to our Board of Directors, and his expertise and reputation as an executive and experience in corporate finance can improve our efforts to represent Color Star's stakeholders. He has established a track record of driving great values, and his scope of experience can support his work alongside his fellow directors and the company's leadership.”
