The June 2014 issue of Global Cement Magazine has a strong UK focus to coincide with the return of the Hillhead Quarry Show 2014 in Derbyshire on 24 - 26 June 2014. This includes a look at the key events of the UK cement industry over the past 12 months and a plant visit report from the Hanson Padeswood plant. There is also a focus on the cement-industry exhibitors that will be at Hillhead.

Elsewhere, we have a new study on the relationship between cement consumption and GDP/capita and a look at quarry rehabilitation. The May 2014 issue of Global Cement Magazine has a review of the Brazilian cement industry, a plant visit report from InterCement's Ijaci plant and a visit report from Brazilian refractory manufacturer Magnesita - all to coincide with the 6th CBC Congresso do Cimento in São Paulo, Brazil. Other features include 150 years of Gebr. Pfeiffer, a detailed look at explosion venting and CO and NOx emission reduction.

Highlights include a review of the Hillhead 2014 show, which took place in Derbyshire on 24 - 26 June 2014, a visit to Cemex's cement plant in Rugby, UK and a detailed overview of the Chinese cement industry.
