All major cement sector projects are complex and face uncertainty. However, CO2 capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects are complex in three dimensions. This comes from the nascent nature of the developing CCUS industry, which complicates an already difficult process.
The inaugural Global CemCCUS Conference on carbon capture for the cement and lime industries has successfully taken place in Oslo, with 150 attendees from 31 countries, and a visit to the Brevik carbon capture.
Furno Materials has integrated preheating, calcining, sintering and cooling in a compact unit: the Furno Brick. Earlier in 2023, it completed a US$6.5m seed funding round.
