Togo: CimTogo has appointed Ebenezer Somuah as its chief executive officer. He succeeds Eric Goulignac in the post, according to Lomé Actu. Somuah previously worked as CimTogo’s Finance Director. Prior to this he held finance positions at Ghacem in Ghana. Somuah holds a master’s in business administration from Ghana-based Central University College.

India: Star Cement has appointed Vinit Kumar Tiwari as its chief executive officer. He succeeds Sajjan Bhajanka in the post. Bhajanka will continue to work for the cement producer as its managing director and chair.

Tiwari, aged 54, holds over 25 years of professional experience in the building materials sector. His most recent position was as the head of sales and market development for Nuvoco Vistas. Prior to working for Nuvoco Vistas, he was the country head for Greenply, a supplier of plywood and veneer products. Earlier in his career he worked for UltraTech Cement and Grasim Industries. He holds a bachelor of science degree and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in marketing.

Italy: Turboden has appointed Yoshinori Hyakutake as its chair. Hyakutake, Hiroshi Matsuda, the previous chair, and Yasuo Kamegawa have also been appointed as directors.

Hyakutake joined Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) in 1993. For the majority of his carrier with MHI he has worked in the thermal power engineering section. He later worked as a project manager on several export projects for thermal power plants. From 2017 to 2020, he worked for Mitsubishi-Hitachi Power System. Since 2021, he has been the Senior Vice President of New Business Development at MHI.

Turboden is a subsidiary of Japan-based MHI. The company manufactures and maintains organic Rankine cycle (ORC) systems, large heat pumps and gas expanders.

Colombia: Empresa Colombiana de Cementos has appointed Martha Patricia Quintero Valderrama as its director general. She succeeds Juan Martínez in the post, according to Valora Analitik. The company is a joint venture between Spain-based Cementos Molins and Corona. It operates the Alión brand.

Quintero has worked for Alión as its commercial director since 2018. Prior to this she worked for Polpaico in Chile and spent over 20 years with LafargeHolcim and its associated companies in Colombia. She is a trained civil engineer from the University of Cartagena. She also holds postgraduate qualifications from the EAN University and Tecnológica del Caribe.
