US: Sabia has appointed Hal Grodzins as its chair and chief executive officer (CEO). He succeeds Clinton Lingren in the post. Grodzins previously held the post of president and chief operating officer at Sabia. Prior to this he worked as the chair and CEO of Heuresis Corporation and also worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Sabia produces analytical hardware and software for the bulk materials sector including applications for cement, coal, mineral ores and other markets.

Brazil: Votorantim Cimentos has appointed Osvaldo Ayres Filho as its global chief executive officer (CEO). He succeeds Marcelo Castelli in the post, who is becoming a member of the board of directors.

Ayres Filho holds over 25 years of professional experience working for companies such as Avon, Fibria and Ciba Chemicals. He joined Votorantim Cimentos in 2012 and has held the positions of financial director for the Europe, Asia and Africa region, operations director for the Southeast region in Brazil, financial director for the Brazilian business and global chief financial officer and Investor Relations Officer, with additional responsibility for the areas of strategy, information technology, mergers and acquisitions and global procurement. He became the company’s chief operations officer in 2021 with responsibility for cement, logistics and adjacent businesses. Ayres Filho holds a degree in business administration from Mackenzie Presbyterian University and a postgraduate degree in administration from the Getulio Vargas Foundation.

Finland: Tana Oy has appointed Kalle Saarimaa as its chief executive officer with effect from 1 June 2023.

Saarimaa is currently working as the Senior Vice President for Circular Solutions at Fortum Oyj. However, he has been a member of the board of Tana Oy since 2021. Prior to working for Fortum Oyj he held posts with Ekokem and Walki Oy. He is also active in Finnish and European waste management organisations and as a board member of circular economy companies.

Tana sells products to the recycling and landfill sectors such as shredders, compactors, screeners, sifters and more.

UAE: RAK White Cement has appointed Himanshu Kapania as its chair. Mohammed Abdullatif Khalifa Al Shehhi has also been appointed as vice-chair. The new appointments were made following a board meeting in early April 2023.
