Aumund wins two contracts in Turkey
08 June 2018Turkey: Germany’s Aumund Fördertechnik has been awarded projects by the Dinçer Çimento Group and Aşkale Çimento.
The scope of supply to Dinçer Çimento supports a new kiln production line at its plant near Bilecik near Bursa. It includes three Aumund BWZ chain bucket elevators with centre distances between 27m and 36m, and capacities of up to 400t/hr. These recirculation bucket elevators will be installed in the raw mill and in clinker conveying. Aumund BWG belt bucket elevators, six altogether, will be installed in the areas of raw meal conveying, heat exchanger, cement silo feed and in the packing plant. The belt bucket elevators have centre distances between 25m and 145m, and are designed for capacities from 120t/hr up to 500t/hr. Two Aumund KZB pan conveyors with a capacity of up to 300t/hr and a lift of 38.5m will be supplied to transport clinker to the clinker silo of the new line. Underneath the clinker silo three more 400t/hr Aumund pan conveyors will be installed, along with silo discharge gates. Another Aumund KZB pan conveyor with a lift of 25.5m and a capacity of up to 200t/hr will convey additives. Dispatch of the 15 Aumund machines for this order will be in stages, commencing in June 2018.
Aumund’s order for Aşkale Çimento is for a heavy-duty Aumund chain bucket elevator for recirculation of bulk material for the plant’s roller press. It has a centre distance of 47m and a capacity of up to 1250t/hr. It also includes an Aumund chain bucket elevator with a heavy-duty Aumund AU19 chain that has a breaking load of 2450kN.
Simon Shipp takes over at Aumund Corporation USA
06 June 2018US: Simon Shipp has taken over as general manager at Aumund Corporation USA, Aumund Fördertechnik’s subsidiary in the US. Shipp holds over 25 years of experience in mechanical engineering, in particular with conveying equipment for bulk materials. He succeeds Geoffrey Conroy, who has retired after 20 years in the role. Conroy will remain with the business as a consultant.
US: Simon Shipp has become the general manager of Aumund USA. He holds over 25 years of international experience in mechanical engineering, in particular with conveying equipment for bulk materials. Shipp succeeds Geoffrey Conroy who has held the post for nearly 20 years. Conroy will remain on the board in a consultant role.
UK: Samson Materials Handling has appointed Karl Woodhouse as its sales director with effect from February 2018. Woodhouse’s career in materials handling started almost 27 years ago with B&W Mechanical Handling, which became Samson Materials Handling in 2013. Samson Materials Handling, a subsidiary of Aumund Group, sells products in the bulk materials handling sector.
Germany: Schade Lagertechnik has achieved re-accreditation under the international quality management system ISO 9001, as well as under the environmental standard ISO 14001 and the occupational health and safety standard OHSAS 18001. The audit was carried out by TÜV Hessen and completes Schade’s transition to the 2015 standard for quality and environmental management.
Germany: Aumund Fördertechnik has appointed Reiner Furthmann as its Managing Director Technology. He started the role on 1 March 2018. His main responsibilities are Research & Development, Design & Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, Materials Management and Purchasing. Furthmann joined Aumund in 1984. His previous role with the company was as its Technical Director.
Aumund to supply equipment for upgrade at LafargeHolcim’s Martres-Tolosane cement plant
23 January 2018France: Aumund has won an order to supply equipment for an upgrade at LafargeHolcim’s Martres-Tolosane cement plant. Aumund Fördertechnik is supplying a package including belt bucket elevators to feed the 96m tall heat exchanger and the raw meal silo at the plant. Two Aumund BWZ chain bucket elevators will be used to convey raw meal and filter dust, and for silo feed. An Aumund KZB pan conveyor with a vertical lift of 9m will be installed under the clinker cooler.
Seven Aumund Louise-type drag chain conveyors with short centre distances of 13 m and conveying capacities between 7 and 50t/hr will extract filter dust. Two Centrex machines (25 – 250t/hr) will be extracting a mixture of limestone and clay as well as iron ore from silos up to 7m high.
The Euro100m modernisation project at the Martres-Tolosane works is part of LafargeHolcim’s Euro300m investment project in France. Once upgraded, the plant will be equipped to burn alternative fuels, and energy consumption and CO2 emissions will be reduced. Work on the project will start in the final quarter of 2018 and be completed by mid-2020.
Uzbekistan: Aumund Fördertechnik has provided an update on an order for Almalyk Mining and Processing (AGMK) for a 1.5Mt/yr cement plant it is building in Sherabad. In May 2017 Aumund won the order for three drag chain conveyors with capacities from 7.5t/hr to 200t/hr for discharge of limestone, gypsum and pozzolan for the plant. In October 2017 an additional order was added for a Louise type drag chain conveyor for discharge of clinker dust.
Overall, Aumund is providing over 250t of machinery to AGMK. In 2018 the engineering company will supply to Uzbekistan at least 10 belt chain bucket elevators with capacities from 21t/hr to 500t/hr, and centre distances between 16.6m and 120m. The largest item in the delivery is a pan conveyor, with a centre distance of 148m and a clinker conveying capacity of 300t/hr. The clinker conveying system comprises two further Aumund pan conveyors with the same capacity but centre distances of 54m and 65m. There are also 19 silo discharge gates included in the package.
Aumund India wins award from FLSmidth
19 October 2017India: Aumund Engineering has received an award for ‘delivery excellence and dedicated support in meeting on-time delivery’ from FLSmidth. The award was part of an initiative to congratulate suppliers that successfully met delivery requirements and quality standards in 2016. A certificate marking the achievement was issued at a suppliers meeting held in Chennai, India.
Aumund sets up Aumund Group Field Service company
04 August 2017Germany: Aumund has created a new company, Aumund Group Field Service, to carry out industrial installation services on behalf of the group subsidiaries, Aumund Fördertechnik, Schade Lagertechnik and Samson Materials Handling. It will also offer this service to customers outside of the Aumund Group. Its purpose will be to supervise the installation and commissioning of machines as well as servicing, maintenance and repair work. It has amalgamated work previously conducted by the other group subsidiaries.
The new subsidiary was incorporated in July 2017 with Erwin Last as its managing director. It is based in Rheinberg next to Aumund’s headquarters. It has 28 employees.
