Citic Heavy Industries to carry out Fujian Jianfu Cement’s upcoming cement plant

China: Fujian Jianfu Cement has hired Citic Heavy Industries to carry out engineering design, procurement, construction and delivery of its upcoming 4500t/day ‘green smart’ cement plant. Process Worldwide Online News has reported that the plant will cost US$136m and operate with a high degree of process automation. As such, Citic Heavy Industries will rely on 3D parametric equipment design and digital twin technology in order to generate equipment models, incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) and maximise data potential for lifecycle operations.

Al Sahawah Cement to receive Duqm plant contract bids until mid-July 2020

Oman: Oman Cement subsidiary Al Sahawah Cement has said that the deadline for bids for two tenders for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of its new Duqm integrated cement plant’s 5000t/day kiln lines and mill. The Oman Daily Observer newspaper has reported that Al Sahawah Cement will commission the grinding plant in September 2021, with full commissioning of the integrated plant to follow in March 2022. The company is also tendering for bids for a third EPC contract for the supply and installation of a 30MW waste heat recovery (WHR) power plant. The entire plant has a cost of US$212m.

KHD commissions mill at Siam City Cement’s Saraburi cement plant

Thailand: Germany-based KHD Humboldt Wedag has reported the successful commissioning of a new Comflex grinding line at Siam City Cement’s Plant 1 in Saraburi. The line replaces two ball mill circuits, maintaining a production capacity of 350t/hr with a 40% lower energy consumption. The Comflex comprises a roller press, RPM18–200/180 static coarse material separator, VS620 static fine material separator, LS8600 system fan, HKSK 236/346 and four product separation cyclones. KHD says that Siam City Cement awarded it the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract because of the system’s low specific power consumption of 13.36kWh/t, compared to over 21kWh/t in the previous system.

Larsen & Toubro wins ACC Ametha contract

17 April 2020

India: ACC Cement has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for work on its upcoming 1.0Mt/yr integrated Ametha plant in Kathnl, Madhya Pradesh to Larsen & Toubro. The Press Trust of India has reported that the 9500t/day cement plant will have a clinker capacity of 3.0Mt/yr. The value of the contract is reportedly US$131m.

Oman Cement Company issues tender for Duqm plant

03 January 2020

Oman: Alsahawa Cement Company (ACC), the newly-founded Oman Cement Company (OCC) subsidiary, will operate the group’s upcoming Duqm cement plant, for which an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract tender has been issued. Bidding is due to close on 27 February 2020.

The new facility will include a coal-fired power plant and waste heat recovery (WHR) power plant. OCC Chief Executive Officer Salim Abdullah Al Hajiri described the commissioning of the 1.7Mt/yr integrated plant as a ‘reverse integration’ process, whereby the plant will initially grind clinker produced at other OCC cement plants beginning in September 2021 before upgrading to fully integrated cement production in March 2022.
