India: France’s Fives has receive an order from AMCL Machinery to supply a new FCB TSV Classifier 4500 THF. The classifier will be used by Ramco Cements at its R R Nagar Plant in Tamil Nadu. Previously the cement producer has installed FCB TSV classifiers at its grinding plants in Kolagat, Salem and Chengalpattu.
Central Pollution Control Board orders three cement plants to cease operation in Telangana
23 June 2017India: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has ordered three cement plants to stop operation and issued show-cause notices to 11 other units in Telangana. Kakatiya Cements in Nalgonda, Mancherial Cements in Mancherial and the government owned Cement Corporation of India at Tandur have been issued with closure notices, according to the new Indian Express newspaper. Around 240 cement factories across the country have been sent either closure or show-cause notices.
The campaign follows an initiative asking selected industries to install online pollution monitoring systems which are to be connected to the CPCB as well as State Pollution Control Board servers to ensure real-time monitoring of pollution emission of industries. Cement plants have also been sent show-cause notices for failing to meet new emissions standards set by the CPCB.
Eagle Cement orders coal mill from Loesche
19 June 2017Philippines: Eagle Cement has ordered a coal mill from Loesche for its Barangay cement plant in San Ildefonso. The vertical roller mill is intended for the third line at the plant and it is designed for grinding 54t/hr of mixed coal or 34t/hr of pet coke. The grist is ground to a fineness of 12% (coal) or 3% (pet coke) sieving residue with 90µm. The scope of supply also includes an LSKS-classifier and corresponding filters, blowers, an inertisation unit, the gas analysis and the main drives. All components are scheduled to be delivered before the end of 2017.
Algeria: The Saoura Cement Company has ordered a MVR 5000 R-4 mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer for a new cement plant at Bechar. The 350t/hr raw cement mill will grind material to a fineness of 12% R90µm and the drive will have a power of 3800kW. Delivery for the mill is scheduled for the first half of 2018. The MVR mill is the fourth that Gebr. Pfeiffer has received an order for in Algeria.
Pakistan: Power Cement has ordered a 7700t/day production line from FLSmidth for its plant at Nooriabad. The new line will be the third production at the site run by Arif Habib Group. The engineering, procurement and supply contract includes a complete range of equipment from crushing to packing and cement loading. No value for the order has been disclosed.
The order includes an ATOX 55 vertical mill for raw grinding, an ATOX 25 vertical mill for coal grinding, an EV 250x250 Hammer Impact Crusher, stacker and reclaimer systems for storage, a ROTAX-2 rotary kiln with low NOx ILC calciner, a JETFLEX burner prepared for future refuse derived fuel (RDF) use, a FLSmidth Cross-Bar cooler and two OK 39-4 vertical mills for cement grinding. Commissioning for the project is scheduled for the end of 2018.
Massive mill order for Loesche in Egypt
24 May 2017Egypt: Germany’s Loesche GmbH has been contracted to supply 18 new vertical roller mills to China’s Sinoma CDI, which is building a six line cement plant at Beni Suef on behalf of the Egyptian Ministry of Defence. Each line will have a capacity of 6000t/day (12.6Mt/yr), making the plant one of the largest in the world.
Six raw mills, each with a capacity of 500t/hr, will grind cement raw material to a fineness of 12% R 90μm, six powerful cement mills, each with a throughput of 350t/hr will grind clinker to a fineness of 3200 Blaine and six Loesche coal mills will grind coal to a fineness of 10% R 90μm.
It is anticipated that the mills will be delivered within 2017, putting high demands on the delivery time of the mill components. Thanks to their long-standing experiences from a variety of fast-track-projects Loesche was able to carry conviction to the Ministry of Defence and assure the expected quick market entry with an elaborated plan of delivery.
Africa: Denmark’s FLSmidth has signed a contract for a cement plant valued at more than Euro100m in an unspecified location in North Africa. The contract includes engineering, equipment supply, construction supervision, commissioning and training. The plant will have a production capacity of 12,000t/day. The contract will become ‘official’ once FLSmidth receives a down payment for the work.
Algeria: The Saoura Cement Company has chosen a MVR 5000 R-4 mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer for the new production line at its plant in Zahana. The 425t/hr raw cement mill will grind material to a fineness of 12 % R90µm and the drive will have a power of 3500kW. The expected moisture level of the input material will be 13%. The order was placed by CBMI, a subsidiary of China’s Sinoma, that is building a plant upgrade for Groupe des Ciments d’Algérie (GICA).
Uzbekistan: Turkey’s DAL Teknik Makina has ordered a MVR 5000 R-4 cement grinding mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer for a project in the Surxondaryo region. The mill will have a 3700kW drive and it will be able to grind 400t/hr of cement. Feed material with a moisture level of up to 7% will be ground to a fineness of 12% R 0.090mm. The mill will be ready for shipping later in 2017. The project is the second mill that DAL Teknik Makina has ordered from Gebr. Pfeiffer.
Messebo Cement buys 200 trucks from Man
26 April 2017Ethiopia: Messebo Cement has purchased 200 trucks from Germany’s Man for US$30m. The cement producer has expanded its fleet to reduce its transportation costs, according to the Ethiopian Reporter newspaper. The trucks have been assembled locally by Mesfin Industrial Engineering, a sister company to Massebo, after shipping. 25 of the trucks are silo trucks for transporting bulk cement and 50 are dump trucks.
