Germany: The European Cement Research Academy (ECRA) has elected Eric Bourdon as the chair of its Technical Advisory Committee. Hendrik Möller, Schwenk Deutschland and Samir Cairae, Titan Cement have also joined the organisation’s board of directors

Bourdon is the Deputy CEO, the Head of Industry and the Chief Climate Officer of Vicat. He joined the group in 2002 after working for thyssenkrupp Polysius. He is a graduate in engineering from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers in Paris.

ECRA was founded in 2003. It supports and shares research by the cement sector in Europe. It is steered by its technical committee. Bourdon will work with ECRA managing director Martin Schneider on strengthening its work in strategic areas, including CO₂ capture and related technologies, as well as grinding and kiln technologies.

Pakistan: Fecto Cement has announced the withdrawal of Rohail Ajmal as a Director of its Board. This decision was made by Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company, as per the rules outlined in Regulation 5.6.1 of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) Rule Book. The Board of Directors of Fecto Cement will appoint a replacement for the vacant position in due course.

Pakistan: Fecto Cement has reappointed Aamir Ghani and Mohammed Yasin Fecto as its chair and CEO respectively. The move followed a formal revaluation of the company leadership, according to Pakistan Press International. It said that the change aims to streamline operations and reinforce the strategic direction of the cement producer. The company operates an integrated plant at Sangjani near to Islamabad.

France: Lafarge France has appointed Alexandre Duca as its chief financial officer. He will report to Xavier Guesnu, the CEO of the subsidiary of Holcim.

Duca has worked for Lafarge since 2000 when he started working as a management assistant at the Cruas lime plant. He later joined the financial control team for Lafarge in 2008 before working in Russia in 2011 as Director of Management Control. Following the merger with Holcim in 2015, he was appointed as Regional Financial Controller for Asia in 2016 and then for Europe in 2019. He then became the CFO of Lafarge Cement and Geocycle France in 2021. Duca is a graduate from the University of Paris-Dauphine.
