Bangladesh: Alamgir Kabir has been appointed as the president of the Bangladesh Cement Manufacturers Association (BCMA). His term covers the 2019 – 2020 and the 2020 – 2021 period, according to the Financial Express newspaper. Md Shahidullah, managing director of Metrocem Cement and chairman of Metrocem Group, and Zahir Uddin Ahmed, managing director of Confidence Cement, were elected the first and second vice-presidents of the BCMA respectively.
Gary Moore appointed Director of Global Business Development at Untha
UK: Austria’s Untha has appointed Gary Moore as its Director of Global Business Development. Moore is currently the Sales Director of Untha UK, a position he will retain. His new global position will see him focus on improving the growth of Untha America.
Mohammed Al-Subaie appointed chairman of Eastern Province Cement
Saudi Arabia: Mohammed Al-Subaie has been appointed as the chairman of Eastern Province Cement. He succeeds Abdulmohsen Al-Ruwaished, who has resigned. Ibrahim Al Ruwais has also been appointed as the company’s vice-chairman.
Eagle Materials to appoint Mike Nicolais as chairman
US: Eagle Materials is planning to appoint board vice-chairman Mike Nicolais as chairman. He will succeed Rick Stewart, who will continue working for the company as a director.
Nicolais currently serves as vice chairman at Highlander Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm. From 2001 - 2003, he served as a partner in the private investment firm of Olivhan Investments, followed by being named managing director at Stephens. Previously, he spent 14 years in the investment banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities, and was managing director and co-head of the company’s Dallas office.
