South Africa: Afrimat recorded sales of US$309m in the six months up to the end of August 2026, the first half of its 2027 financial year (FY 2027). This corresponds to a year-on-year decline of 4%. Alliance News has reported that the producer attributed the decline to the performance of its cement business, alongside other units. Afrimat's pretax profit fell by 48%, to US$8.36m.

In the remaining part of 2026, the producer expects its cement business to benefit from ‘increased clinker availability’ in the South African market.
