China Gezhouba Group enters production in Kazakhstan
21 October 2019Kazakhstan: China Gezhouba Group has inaugurated a 0.9Mt/yr clinker production plant in the Kyzylorda region. Central Asia News has reported that the plant will produce nine types of cement, with oil well cement its major product. This is aimed at diminishing the Kazakh oil industry’s dependence on cement imports. China Gezhouba Group chairman Li Ming said: “the alignment of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Kazakhstan’s Bright Path economic policy brings great prospects for the China-Kazakhstan cement production capacity.”
The new cement plant is the first in the region and will employ 260 people.
Man Diesel & Turbo supplies six engines to China Gezhouba Group cement plant project in Iraq
01 June 2017Iraq: Germany’s Man Diesel & Turbo has delivered six Man 18V32/40 engines, including gensets and mechanical equipment to CGGC-UN Power Co (Gezhouba Group) in Samawah. CGGC is acting as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor in a project building a 50MW captive power plant for a cement plant to be operated by Kairat Al Abar Iraqi (KAAI). The engines will run on heavy fuel oil (HFO) in base load mode. The cement plant is being built by China’s Sinoma.
China Gezhouba and Zhongxia Cement set up US$190m joint venture
28 November 2014China: Gezhouba Group Cement, a subsidiary of China Gezhouba Group, has signed an agreement with Hubei Zhongxia Cement to set up a joint venture to restructure the assets and businesses of Zhongxia Cement.
The joint venture, with a registered capital of US$190m, will be engaged in production and sales of cement, clinker and fine slag powder and opencast mining of limestone for cement uses. Gezhouba Cement will hold 51% of the venture and Zhongxia Cement will hold the remaining 49%. The venture will acquire the entire current assets of inventories for cement production and operation of Zhongxia Cement after establishment.
