Bruks Siwertell receives ship unloader order from Kuwait Portland Cement

Kuwait: Bruks Siwertell has received an order from Kuwait Portland Cement for a ST 490-M type ship unloader. The rail-mounted unit will handle various cement types and deliver a continuous material handling capacity of 800t/hr, discharging vessels up 50,000dwt. It will be installed on an existing jetty next to the customer’s older ST 490-F type rail-mounted Siwertell unloader. Delivery to the port is planned for mid-2023. A notable feature of the order is the unit’s ability to withstand high ambient temperatures of up to 55°C.

Bruks Siwertell receives orders for two road-mobile ship unloaders in North America

US: Bruks Siwertell has received an order for two 5000 S type road-mobile ship unloaders for cement handling in North America. The first unit will be delivered to the US midwest in the summer of 2022 with commissioning scheduled for the winter of 2022. The second unit, for the southeast region, will be delivered in the summer of 2022 with commissioning by the spring of 2023. Both unloaders will have a rated cement handling capacity of 300t/hr for vessels up to 5000 dwt. Other features include technology for diagnostics and trouble-shooting. The customer for the order has not been disclosed.

Anhui Panjing Cement order upgrade to production line from KHD and AVIC

China: Anhui Panjing Cement has ordered an upgrade to its production line from KHD and AVIC. The project includes: installing new triple cyclones in conjunction with existing preheater top stage twin cyclones; a partial modification of downcomer duct; installing a new preheater fan; adding optimised and larger dip tubes for the existing cyclones; installing a new Pyrobox type calciner firing system; adding new raw meal pipes for the two lowest cyclone stages; making calciner modification within the existing preheater building; and installing a new kiln drive system. Where possible the project plans to use reuse existing equipment. It is scheduled for completion by January 2022. It follows a previous upgrade at the plant in 2020 – 2021.

Other recent orders that KHD has announced with China-based cement companies include an upgrade to a production line at Hongshi Group’s Lanzhou plant in Gansu province and the installation of NOx-reducing modifications on a 5000t/day clinker production line operated by China United Cement Baoding.

Bunting opens Bunting-Redditch Customer Experience Centre

UK: Bunting has opened the Bunting-Redditch Customer Experience Centre at its Bunting-Redditch facility in Redditch, Worcestershire. The centre is equipped with high-intensity magnetic separators, eddy current separators and a revolutionary electrostatic separator. Bunting said that it will enable its engineers to work in partnership both remotely and at site.

General manager Adrian Coleman said “Having the ability to test and prove the separation capabilities of a specific machine is priceless. There is a constant flow of materials arriving to be tested and being returned. We are fortunate enough to have unique laboratory-scale technology that enables separations that are simply not possible in other test houses. Investing in our new Customer Experience Centre has already generated orders that previously we would not have secured.”

Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies records sales growth in first half of 2020

France: Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies recorded sales of Euro540,000 in the first half of 2020, more than five times the Euro96,000 recorded in the first half of 2020. Its cement sales were 1880t, more than double its first-half cement sales in 2020. During the period, its orders increased by 29% to 200,000t from 155,000t at 31 December 2020. The company recorded negative earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of Euro2.56m, up by 22% from Euro2.10m in the first half of 2020. It loss declined by 39% to Euro2.68m from Euro4.14m.

Bedeschi to supply apron feeders to Lehigh Cement’s Mitchell plant in Indiana

US: Italy-based Bedeschi has been awarded a new order for the supply of two BED RNSH 1800/6 type apron feeders for Lehigh Cement’s integrated Mitchell plant in Indiana. The new feeders will be able to process up to 1300t/hr of crushed limestone and they will be placed in the primary and secondary crushing area to replace the old existing machines. They feature super duty design with CAT type chains and a Bedeschi super duty belt. As part of the installation Bedeschi has used a three dimensional survey to define the exact room availability in the existing plant. The new feeders will join three others at the plant that were already ordered as part of an upgrade programme for clay crushing and additive dosing. No value for the order has been disclosed.

Lehigh Cement, a subsidiary of Germany-based HeidelbergCement, resumed work on its US$600m upgrade project at the Mitchell plant in February 2021. Work on the upgrade was suspended in early 2020.

Bruks Siwertell supplies road-mobile ship unloader to Ozinga

US: Sweden-based Bruks Siwertell has delivered a 5000 S road-mobile ship unloader to Ozinga. The product was originally ordered in 2020 and it provides a continuous rated unloading capacity of 300t/hr for vessels up to 5000dwt. It is Ozinga’s first order from Bruks Siwertell.

Ozinga specialises in concrete, dry bulk materials and natural gas energy solutions. It operates a network of truck, rail, barge and ship terminals mostly in the mid-west region of the US, where the new ship unloader will be used.

Claudius Peters reports strong orders for first half of 2021

Germany: Claudius Peters has reported strong order intake for the first half of 2021. Parent company Langley Holdings said that, “if the forecast to year end is met, [it] will be the highest since 2008.” It added that Claudius Peters’ France-based subsidiary was reorganised during the reporting period. Langley Holdings’ revenue fell by 2% year-on-year to Euro363m in the first half of 2021 from Euro370m in the same period in 2020. However, its operating profit increased significantly and it has forecast revenue growth of 15% for the year as a whole.

Indian cement producer orders 1.8Mt/yr grinding unit from Larsen & Toubro

19 July 2021

India: Larsen & Toubro says that it has won a contract to supply a 1.8Mt/yr grinding unit to a site belonging to a ‘leading cement producer’ at Dolvi in Maharashtra. The supplier said that the scope of the work includes civil and mechanical engineering and equipment installation.

JSW Cement operates a 2.2Mt/yr integrated cement plant in Dolvi. It upgraded the plant’s capacity from 1.2Mt/yr in 2019.

Eureka Shipping orders two cement carriers from Royal Bodewes

Cyprus: Eureka Shipping has ordered two cement carriers from Netherlands-based shipbuilder Royal Bodewes. This latest order represents the fourth and fifth ships in a series that Eureka Shipping, a joint venture between SMT Cement Ships and the CSL Group, has requested from the shipbuilder, according to Maritime Reporter & Engineering News. The new ships follow the Aalborg White, Kongsdal and Norden that were built in 2019. Each vessel has a capacity of 4252dwt. Eureka Shipping operates a fleet of 13 cement carriers with a range of 3000 – 23,000dwt.
