Li Liufa appointed as chair of China Tianrui Group Cement

China: China Tianrui Group Cement has appointed Li Liufa as its chair. He succeeds Li Xuanyu in the role, who has resigned due to “other work commitments.”
Li Liufa is the founder of Tianrui Group. He has been a non-executive director of China Tianrui Group Cement since 2011 and became a member of its nomination committee in 2018. He is responsible for our group’s overall strategic planning and the management of its business. Li was the head of Shanshui Cement from 2015 to 2018. He has also held representative positions for Henan province to the National People’s Congress on a number of occasions between 2003 to 2018. Li holds an executive master of business administration from Peking University. Li Liufa is the father of Li Xuanyu.
Chana Poomee appointed as president of the ASEAN Federation of Cement Manufacturers

Thailand: The ASEAN Federation of Cement Manufacturers (AFCM) has elected Chana Poomee as its president for a two year term from 2025 to 2027. He succeeds Yeoh Soo Keng in the role. Poomee has been the chair of the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) since 2022 and was re-elected in 2024 until 2026. He is also the chief sustainability officer of Siam Cement Group (SCG).
Wael Abdrabbou appointed as Head of Finance at Sinai Cement

Egypt: Sinai Cement has appointed Wael Abdrabbou as Head of Finance.
Abdrabbou has worked in financial management roles at the subsidiary of France-based Vicat since 2020. Before this he held accounting roles for the bags unit of Lafarge Egypt from 2004. He eventually became the division’s Chief Accountant from 2014 to 2020. Abdrabbou holds an accounting degree from Mansoura University and a master of business administration from the Arab Academy For Banking And Financial Science.
Emre Karabulut appointed as Group Manager of Information Technologies and Digitalization at Medcem Cement

Türkiye: Medcem Cement has appointed Emre Karabulut as Group Manager of Information Technologies and Digitalisation. He has worked in information management roles at Medcem Cement for over a decade. Prior to this he held software engineering positions with chemicals manufacturer Organik Kimya and various software companies.
Ed Sullivan resigns from PCA

US: Ed Sullivan has resigned as the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President at the Portland Cement Association (PCA) with effect from 1 March 2025.
Sullivan holds over 40 years’ experience in industrial economic analysis. He has been in post at the PCA since 2002 where he led a team of economists delivering market research. Prior positions include vice president roles at Chase Manhattan Bank Economics, Standard & Poor’s and Wharton Economics. He also spent a period working as a senior intelligence officer at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and as an economist within the Office of Senator Edward Kennedy. He has taught economics at St. Joseph’s and Villanova Universities in Philadelphia, Fairfield University in Connecticut, as well as Columbia and Fordham Universities in New York City.
