Dangote orders new Loesche mill for Ibese
19 September 2013Nigeria: Dangote has ordered a new vertical roller mill from Loesche for a new project, Ibese 7, at its Ibese cement plant. The mill is the 13th mill the Nigerian cement producer has ordered from Loesche for Ibese.
The order is for a LM 63.3+3 vertical roller mill for grinding clinker with components such as gypsum and limestone. The product rate of clinker type CEM I will be 310t/hr at 3200 blaine while the product rate of clinker type CEM II will be 295t/hr at 4500 blaine. The gearbox capacity for the LM 63.3+3 will be 6700kW.
In addition to the mill Loesche will deliver a LF 20 (burner dual-fuel HFO / NG) hot gas generator and all the mechanical equipment between the mill pre-bins and the product bucket elevator. Loesche will also supply all electrical equipment and automation, the building steel structure and the detail engineering of the civil works. A latest generation type LDC classifier will also be delivered by Loesche. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of April 2014.
Cimentos Mozambique order US$8m filter from American Air Filter
12 September 2013Mozambique: Cimentos Mozambique has signed a contract for the manufacture and installation of a filter to reduce the emissions from its cement plant in the southern city of Matola. The US$8m order has been placed with American Air Filter for installation in 2014.
"Protecting the environment and the health and well-being of the residents of Matola and the surrounding area was one of the first points on the agenda of the new management of the factory. We are convinced that we will be in a much better situation when the new filter is installed next year," said Cimentos Mozambique spokesman Sergio Bandeira.
Cimentos Mozambique is Mozambique's largest cement producer. In late 2012 Brazilan cement producer InterCement took over the company from Cimpor.
MacGregor secures carrier order for Taiheiyo Engineering
04 September 2013Finland: MacGregor has secured a new order for autonomous loading and unloading systems for an 8700DWT cement carrier to be built for Japanese ship-owner Taiheiyo Kisen Kaisha. The cement handling systems are designed to carry three grades of cement at a rated capacity of 1000t/hr.
"The totally enclosed cement handling arrangements will ensure flexible, efficient and clean cargo operations," says Anders Berencsy, Sales Manager, Selfunloaders at MacGregor.
Cargotec subsidiary MacGregor provides engineering solutions and services for handling marine cargoes and offshore loads.
Uralmash supplies mill frames to Holcim Russia
04 September 2013Russia: Heavy machine producer Uralmash has signed a contract with Holcim Russia to supply a 4kh13,5 mill frame with covers and liners for its Schurovsky plant. A total of approximately 130t of equipment will be manufactured for delivery by January 2014.
This is a third set of frames that will be manufactured for this plant by Uralmash. The first two were delivered in 2010 and 2011. Holcim Russia has been conducting an upgrade of this plant since 2007. A new production line began operation in 2011.
Sinoma orders another Gebr. Pfeiffer mill for Iraq
04 September 2013Iraq: Sinoma (Suzhou) Construction has placed an order for an MPS 5000 B vertical roller mill for cement raw material grinding from Germany's Gebr. Pfeiffer SE. The grinding plant will be located near Sulaymaniya in northern Iraq and is the fifth MPS 5000 B in a row which will be installed there.
The vertical roller mill sold is designed for a capacity of 500t/hr at a product fineness of 10% R 80 µm and will come equipped with a 4000kW gear unit.
In addition to the supply of the core components for the grinding plant, the order includes engineering services to enable the local manufacture of mill components and the supervision of manufacture at Chinese workshops.
Indonesia: Indocement has ordered seven Loesche vertical roller mills for a new production line at the Citeureup cement plant, south of Jakarta. Citeureup currently comprises nine kiln lines with a total cement capacity of 11.9Mt/yr, making it one of the largest cement plants in the world.
Two type LM 56.4 mills have been ordered to grind raw materials for cement. Each will have a capacity of 400t/hr at a product fineness of 10% R 90 µm. Two type LM 28.3 D mills are intended to grind coal and have a capacity of 40t/hr at a product fineness of 12 % R 90 µm. Indocement has ordered three type LM 56.3+3 mills to grind clinker. Each mill will be producing 240t/hr of PPC cement with a fineness of 19% R 32 µm.
In addition to supplying vertical roller mills, Loesche will also be responsible for the cyclones, dedusting filters, fans and corresponding hot gas generators for the cement mills. Delivery for Citeureup plant will start at in August 2014.
Cemex Latam sales up by 8% in Q2 2013
24 July 2013Colombia: Cemex Latam has reported that its consolidated net sales rose year-on-year by 8% to US$431m in the second quarter of 2013. The Cemex subsidiary, based in Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and Brazil, attributed the rise to higher volumes, driven by improved construction activity and higher prices. Cemex Latam's operating earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased year-on-year by 16% to US$166m
"We are very pleased with the favourable results in the second quarter, as evidenced by the record level of operating EBITDA margin that reached 38.5%. We are also very encouraged with the results seen so far in connection with our new strategy based on commercial solutions that are allowing us to capture incremental value," said Carlos Jacks, CEO of Cemex Latam.
By region, Cemex Latam's operating EBITDA in Colombia increased by 12% to US$103m in the second quarter of 2013 and net sales increased by 6% to US$238m. In Panama, operating EBITDA increased by 14% to US$40m and net sales increased by 8% to US$81m. In Costa Rica, operating EBITDA increased by 37% to US$19m and net sales increased by 28% to US$42m. In Cemex Latam's remaining territories operating EBITDA increased by 7% to US$21m and net sales were US$74m.
FLSmidth receives two new Brazilian orders
17 July 2013Brazil: FLSmidth has received two new orders in Brazil. The first is for a 3300t/day line for Pitimbu Plant, a greenfield project by Companhia De Cimento Da Paraíba in Paraíba state. The Danish cement plant supplier previously built a plant at Sete Lagoas for the client.
The second order is for an OK-33 vertical roller mill. Cimento Itambé has ordered the mill for cement grinding at its Balsa Nova Plant located in Paraná state. This is the 19th OK mill sold in Brazil.
"The awarding of these orders to FLSmidth is a consequence of a high market demand and has been given to FLSmidth in spite of great competitor interest in the same area," said President, Cement Division, Per Mejnert Kristensen.
First Gebr. Pfeiffer mill for Uzbekistan
19 June 2013Uzbekistan: The Turkish turnkey cement plant solutions provider DAL Teknik Makina has placed an order with Germany's Gebr. Pfeiffer SE for a Pfeiffer MPS 3350 B vertical roller mill for raw meal. It will be used for the manufacture of grey and white cement in Uzbekistan.
The grinding plant is scheduled to go on stream as early as 2014. The mill is guaranteed to achieve a raw meal capacity of 200t/hr for the production of grey cement. When it comes to white cement, the mill will be capable of processing 160t/hr of raw material. The installed power of the mill will be 1700kW.
The company said that the order is proof of its good cooperation with Turkish companies and that it strengthens its Pfeiffer's position in Central Asia.
Thailand: German steel and engineering group ThyssenKrupp has won a Euro150m contract to build a cement plant in Saraburi near Bangkok for TPI Polene. The plant will have a cement production capacity of 10,000t/day and is scheduled to start production in 2015.
"With domestic cement demand expected to reach 45Mt/yr by 2015, Thailand is an important market and production location in Southeast Asia," commented ThyssenKrupp.
