Aumund wins order for six production lines in Egypt
11 January 2017Egypt: Aumund has won a contract to supply clinker conveying equipment for six production lines. The tender is part of a project by Chengdu Design & Research Institute of Building Materials Industry (CDI), a subsidiary of Sinoma International Engineering, to build the 6000t/day lines for the government. No value has been released for the order.
The lines will each be equipped by Aumund with four 650t/hr BWG belt bucket elevators and three 550t/hr BWZ chain bucket elevators. The machinery package also includes four 170t/hr BWG-L belt bucket elevators, one 80t/hr BWZ-L chain bucket elevator and six 375t/hr pan conveyors for each of the six lines. Altogether the order comprises 108 machines.
The new project in Beni Suef is to be completed by the end of 2020. The pilot phase of the new production lines is due to start as early as December 2017. Aumund will supply the machines to Egypt in three deliveries, between April and June 2017.
FLSmidth to build cement plant for EcoCementos in Colombia
11 January 2017Colombia: FLSmidth has received an order from OHL Industrial for engineering, procurement and supply of equipment for a complete cement production line with a capacity of 3150t/day. The plant will be located in Rio Claro in the Sonsón municipality of Antioquia. The end client of the project is Empresa Colombiana de Cementos (EcoCementos), a company jointly owned by Cementos Molins and Grupo Corona, with whom OHL Industrial has an engineering, construction and procurement (EPC) contract.
The order includes a complete range of equipment from crushing to packing and loadout. Supply includes an ATOX 37.5 vertical mill for raw grinding, an ATOX 17.5 vertical mill for coal grinding, a ROTAX-2 rotary kiln with low NOx ILC calciner, a FLSmidth Cross-Bar cooler, a JETFLEX burner and an OK(TM) 39-4 vertical mill for cement grinding. The order is planned for completion in the first quarter of 2018.

Georgia: Gebr Pfeiffer has received an order to supply a mill for HeidelbergCement Group’s Kaspi plant. The vertical roller mill will be used in a new 3000t/day kiln line at the site. The order was placed through the China’s Sinoma Chengdu in November 2016.
The type MPS 4000 B mill, equipped with a SLS 3750 B type classifier, has been designed for a capacity of 270t/hr of raw meal. The mill will be delivered with an enlarged housing to allow the raw material with a moisture of up to 10% to be dried almost exclusively with the available preheater gases.
Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2018.
Bolivia: FLSmidth has received an order from Fábrica Nacional de Cemento SA (FANCESA) for the supply of equipment to build a complete cement production line with a capacity of 2100t/day, including plant design, procurement and civil engineering services. The plant will be located in Sucre.
The order is valued at over US$75m. It includes a range of equipment from crushing to packing and loadout. Equipment ordered includes an ATOX 35.0 vertical mill for raw grinding, a ROTAX-2 rotary kiln with low NOx ILC calciner, a Cross-Bar 8x38 cooler and a OK 30 vertical mill for cement grinding. The order will be completed by the first quarter of 2018. FLSmidth's supply also includes equipment from product companies of FLSmidth, such as planetary gear units from FLSmidth MAAG Gear, fabric filters from FLSmidth Airtech, a packing plant from FLSmidth Ventomatic, control system and plant automation from FLSmidth Automation and weighing and metering systems from FLSmidth Pfister.

Sinoma to supply waste heat recovery plant for Fauji Cement
19 December 2016Pakistan: Sinoma Energy Conservation Company has signed an agreement with Fauji Cement to install a 7.6MW waste heat recovery (WHR) plant. The agreement was signed by Sardar Mahmood Ali Khan, Director-General of Fauji Cement and officials of Sinoma in Rawalpindi, according to the Nation newspaper. The power plant will be installed by the end of the first quarter of 2018. Once the project is complete the cement producer will be able to produce 80% of electricity requirements from captive sources. Previously Fauji Cement installed a 12MW WHR plant in early 2015.
CBMI Construction wins two contracts with LafargeHolcim for grinding plants in Uganda and Kenya
14 December 2016Kenya/Uganda: CBMI Construction has signed two contracts with LafargeHolcim in Kampala for cement grinding plant projects in Uganda and Kenya. Bamburi Cement, LafargeHolcim’s subsidiary in Kenya, has ordered a 1Mt/yr grinding plant from CBMI. The plant will be located in Nairobi. Hima Cement, a joint venture LafargeHolcim is part of in Uganda, has ordered a 0.8Mt/yr grinding plant. It will be located in Tororo in the east of the country.
The scope of the projects covers clinker feeding to cement packing and shipping. These contracts will come into force after being signed, receiving of guarantees and CBMI’s receiving advance payments. Contract periods are 17.5 months after contracts coming into force to complete industrial tests, and 19 months to commissioning.
Attendees of the signing ceremony included the CEO of Bamburi Cement Bruno Pescheux, the CEO of Hima Cement Daniel Pettersson and the Regional Manager of CBMI Li Ming.
Aumund India wins orders in conjunction with FLSmidth projects
14 December 2016India: Aumund India has been awarded orders for 17 bucket elevators, eight silo discharge systems and one pan conveyor in connection to orders FLSmidth has received from Tamilnadu Cement, Akij Cement and Shah Cement.
Aumund India will deliver one type BW-ZL bucket elevator, one type BWG belt bucket elevator and three type BWG-GK belt bucket elevators instead of the conventional Aumund type BWZ bucket elevator for the Akij Cement project. For the Tamilnadu Cement project FLSmidth had specific design criteria and wanted a certain safety factor for the chain. So Aumund India provided an optimised solution, which met these specific criteria. It will deliver two type BW-ZL bucket elevators, eight type BWG bucket elevators, eight type SDI silo discharge systems and one type KZB deep drawn pan conveyor. For the Shah Cement project Aumund India will deliver two type BWZ bucket elevators.
Gebr Pfeiffer announces first MVR mill for Iran
07 December 2016Iran: Gebr Pfeiffer has released information about a MVR 4250 R-4 raw mill that will be installed at Biarjaimand Cement Company. The raw mill, with an installed drive power of 3000kW, is designed to grind 280t/hr of cement raw material to a product fineness of ≤ 12 % R 90µm. The contract was awarded in September 2016 and the order was placed through the Chinese general contractor Beijing Kaysun Trading, a subsidiary of CATIC based in Beijing. Gebr Pfeiffer staff will also supervise erection and commissioning. The delivery of the equipment is scheduled to start in the second half of 2017.
New order for Intercem placed by Sea Invest in Abidjan
07 December 2016Ivory Coast: Intercem has been awarded an additional order by Sea Invest for the raw material transport at the 8000t/day cement grinding and packing plant that the contractor is building for Cim Ivoire in Abidjan. The transport system will link an Eco Hopper to the clinker silos and the additive storage at the site. Commissioning is planned for the fourth quarter of 2017.
The order includes the delivery of trough belt conveyors as well as all related components and the transfer tower on an engineering, procurement and construction base including the piling, the foundation works, the steel construction, the cladding of the building, the roofing of the belt bridges, the necessary filters and chutes to the electrical equipment, installation and the commissioning. The scope of supply contains the measurement of the local conditions with a 3D scanning system as well as the mechanical, electrical and civil engineering.
Korfez wins order for shell lining system in Turkey
29 November 2016Turkey: Korfez Eng. has signed an order with a cement producer to supply a new shell lining system. The scope of the order is a complete replacement of a wear shell lining for a single-compartment mill with an effective grinding length of 4m and 14.5m, the mill discharge and complete new manhole covers in modified execution. The complete lining is of a wave profile type WAVE 35/50 in a highly wear-resistant steel castings with 27% chromium content. The complete contract scope will be completed and delivered within a month and a half.
